I think the poll should be how much are you up or down. I have won quite a bit but I have also lost some as well. I chose 5-10k because after entries and losses I would say I am probably in that area.

I am probably being conservative as I have had a few scores in the few hundred to up to over a K but I have dogged a few off as well.:o

$ Won on Pool!

There was a roughly ten year period when I pulled a nice middle class living out of wagering on my pool game. It wasn't really gambling because I was soon so far in the black that I'll never be in the red in this lifetime on pool wagers.

How much did I win in those ten years? I can guess pretty accurately but I don't know. I gambled on pool not less than 3500 days in those ten years and I won 80% of my bets. Of course I had my overhead to meet too. For tax purposes I'd say I broke even!

Same here!, I don't Gamble (cards, casino's, horses) games of chance,......
but I will make a wager on a game of "SKILL" (pool) for a hundred or two!.....

gotta be 98% winner over 35yrs.

Is it gambling in tournaments

or

1. gambling,
2. in tournaments,
3. matching up (which I don't see as its own category).

Fred <~~~ should play more
Hey Fred, gambling and tournaments on your own skill at the table, not talking about staking someone or betting on a pool match between 2 other players. :)

Your pole only had winnings - are you not interested in how much we have lost?

I for one say that I have lost money over the years.
Well someone just posted a poll on losing,i was just curious about winnings that people have had total over their pool career, anyone who knows should deduct their losses from the total. :)

Not as much as ive invested into the game with playing time, equipment etc

Ive invested way to much into it (table, sticks.etc) for it to even be close.
But now all the big expenses are done maybe i can recoup some of the costs now.

Well get on it man and win some cheese! :D

Like people on an internet forum are going to give you accurate data regarding gambling, might as well ask everyone to post the size of their schlong, or what the biggest fish you ever caught was.

I don't usually gamble on pool but at the same time I can't say that I've never gambled. I'm going with the 100-1000 dollar mark.

That's what

I was going to say, Neil, it is your 'net profit' not how much you have made.
You have to consider expenses, entry fees, food, drink, quarters.

Long time ago, but getting a $10 or $20 game in a bar didn't used to be hard, or matching up for $100-$300 a set.

I had a period about 6-8 years ago where I was making $500-$3,000 a month matching up for about 2 years. Now, I have to give up the nuts for a $50 set. Gambling is far and few between anymore, at least locally it is. People just don't have the extra cash anymore like they used to.

Air barrel champion

I spent some time out on the road in the mid 80's. Made some nice scores.
Mostly played in the bars but I'll bet I've been air barrelled more tines than most.

Mostly small stuff, $10 or $20 at a time, with the high being $250.

Got so bad, I started writing it down and carrying this list in my wallet.

Added it up one day and the total came out to a little over $4300.

Funny thing was when I'd get stiffed by someone and run into them six months or a year later, they'd want to play.

I'd pull out my list and say " Yeah, we can play as soon as you pay me the $50 you air barrelled me last July."

And, of course, y'all know the answer to that. They couldn't remember or denied it.

What can you say for selective amnesia! LOL
