hes exactly right a cue already cut is very limited. too skinny in the joint cant turn points even. a 1 pc cue much fatter and more wood to turn true. they get a premuim

You can see the 'H' in 'Hoppe' in the second picture. The first signature has a curl on both ends of the left bar of the 'H'; the second signature only has the curl at the bottom. There are other identifying characteristics in the signature, but the 'H' is all you need.

I have seen a lot more of the '2nd signature/1st label' than the '1st signature/1st label', so older doesn't mean rarer. Exception is '1st signature/1st label/shield weight stamp'...esoteric, huh?

What I really would like to find is a purpleheart Hoppe Pro with an ivory ring. I have never even seen a purpleheart with the first label. Another odd thing - I've seen oak with the first label, but no oak Hoppe Pros, only Titlists.

Uh oh - I went through a similar hell when I changed from the p.c. to the Mac. What a mess. Ended up losing all my email, but found out I didn't need it. No big deal - emails all concerned the ebony 26 1/2 I'm having Jerry work on. He probably hasn't received it yet, and I haven't received the mop blanks I ordered, so no hurry to make design decisions.

Ed Young said he hasn't started on the cues yet, thinks it's ebony and will look at it again and call me later today. I may as well put a hold on the restorations.
