How relaxed is your bridge hand?

I realized last night that my bridge hand is very tense when I'm down on my shot. For some reason, I naturally want to tighten up/flex my bridge hand to make a rock solid bridge. I've been doing this for years and never thought twice about it until last night.

After experimenting for a few hours with totally relaxing my bridge hand I've had great results. My whole body and mind just feel way less stressed and relaxed. I also feel less rushed to shoot because I can only flex my hand for so long before it becomes uncomfortable and strenuous.

Anyways, I just wanted to share in case anyone else could benefit from this adjustment as well. Good luck!

I have two torn rotator in shoulders, if I am not relaxed I am in pain. Yes in PRN I USE CLOSED BRIDGE, but only use semi firm grip. Pain travels up nerves to brain.

Are we supposed to know what "PRN" is because otherwise this sure doesn't seem to make any sense.

Thought everyone knew PRN, it’s a Medical Term.

What does the abbreviation prn mean in medical terms?

The PRN prescription stands for 'pro re nata,' which means that the administration of medication is not scheduled. Instead, the prescription is taken as needed.

Wouldn’t that depend on the shot? Regardless of the controversy/evidence re: the ‘open vs. closed’ bridge debate, I think the unconscious tendency to tighten your bridge grip at the last second when loading up a forced stroke with extreme english is likely justified by past experiences.

Tight/tense usually is a bad deal in ANY game/sport. Pool is no different.

Like that clears anything up. WTF?????????? Do you ever read your post before you hit 'enter'??? A monkey on acid would probably make as much sense.

Its kinda backwards fir(sic) me. I get tense in tourneys/ match play. Thing is my (closed) bridge tends to loosen! I need to remind myself to tighten it up justa bit.
