i guess you mean "they are not". but i still do not see what you mean as "bonafide dealer"

what does "full protection" mean?

there are only a handful of makers that you would have that long of a wait

I say, buy a cue from whomever, whenever, and as often as you'd like..
Try to get into it, at the best price possible. One of the things I hear about the benefit of purchasing direct from a maker is 'oh but you can design your own cue, with your preferred spec, but really, most people when provided the opportunity, will 'screw it up', because they are not artists, and tastes certainly change too. The fact is, more often than not, it's just a matter of what catches the individual eye, at that point in time, combined with what he or she knows about what they are shopping for. I know that one month I really like ebony into ebony, with ivory joint., next month, no, I think I prefer the birdseye butt sleeve, with pau ferro points into maple forearm... then, no, give me the gaboon ebony sleeve into traditional birdseye, with 4 veneers.. point is, there are a wide range of cues from great makers available through dealers, ebay, collectors world wide, etc. etc, and if that huge availability is not good enough for you, then place that order with your favorite maker, and all is still right with the world, and if your lucky, the maker will treat you with respect & dignity, and will even return a few
email in a timely manner. Note: The makers that I am involved, all have a very long wait... and I even have some cues on order (I think from 2000, so getting pretty close), and I've probably bought & sold 10 or so cue from that maker alone, from time I placed that order. I'm an action guy, give it to me now baby, or dont give it at all. When I want a new cue, today's the day, not next month, not next year, not five years from now... today damnit! Nice speaking with you, keep it real.

Hi cuegirl. I see that you dealt with Bill G...

The movie "The Three Faces of Eve" comes to mind.

Who will be number three? Time will tell.

Thanks for turning me on to this site.
I will continue to read various posts and occasionally chime in.
Funny, my original post was directed to cuegirl, concerning ebay. Since I do have alot of ebay experience, buying & selling, I thought I could share some of that wisdom with her, but then a certain party accuses you of being her, and now, because I communicated with her, these spastics think that I too am you, so what is the value for any additional dialogue this topic?

Funny, these guys find it ‘passing strange’ that anyone could actually sell high end cues.
I personally know that you have sold me nice stuff, and I know a number of collectors who have purchased high end cues from you… really I think it’s jealousy, … you have great contacts with the right makers, and you are actually moving product. Quite certain that you have developed a nice new relationship with cuegirl too… good on yas!
(and you know that I have been known to buy or move a high ender myself).

Note: Looking at your Hercek’s… nice!!!! I like the far left cosmetics, but prefer the ivory joint… Will talk later. Shoot me photos the McWorter’s.. I didn’t receive the attachments yesterday.

Finally, let me just relay a few observations, generally concerning the wonderful world of cues. Makers are important as they compete with one another, each learning new technique, design & construction, from one another. This leads to exciting new products, constantly improving on hit, cosmetic appeal with top notch construction.
Dealers are important to the maker & buyer, as he purchases a number of that makers cues, hence providing instant profit to the maker, and provides good price to a buyer due to his good standing & price break with maker, and combined with direct orders from individual clients, the maker is able to sustain his operation. The individual collector and the individual player perhaps buying just one cue from a particular maker, are important because (per above), they augment the direct sales, (same as dealer but on a smaller level), and also, they provide the life line for the dealer & maker, for without the individual buyer, neither the maker or the dealer has any market at all. So let’s all take a deep breath and show due respect for all of the wonderfully talented custom cue makers, the hard working dealers, who work tirelessly in this difficult field, to fend for their families, promoting these artistic works, and the individual collector, player & one time buyer, who make it all possible. Together, we make up a team, and if we can all learn to better appreciate each of our rolls, this market will continue to grow and improve over time. But if we stoop to levels of bashing one another, pointing out nothing but the negative of fellow ‘teammates’, the industry (as we know it) is bound to fail, and if not careful, the value of the Cue through disharmony among key members of the team, will surely fall. I for one, will do my small part by continuing to collect, and play on a semi-competitive level, appreciate the many contacts & friends that I have made heretofore, with excitement about the prospects of those relationships, not yet found. Shoot me a call or email.. and keep moving product! I for one appreciate all that you do, your roll as part of the world cue team!
Best Regards…. Cuegirl… or is it Bill, or is it ??? Keep forgetting who in the hell I am!!
P.S. man do I write some long threads or what! Have to start calling em ‘large balls of yarn!’
