Well, the technique is everything. I use to jump with my old Lucasi back in the 90's BUT the best tip at that time was LePro and maybe Triangle...
If you listen the sound of their shaft when they hit balls with it, you'll realize that they were using hard tips (medium hard whatever...).
It's definitely easier to jump a ball with a harder tip (physics 101) but their technique was flawless. They were even able to dig deep into the cueball without miscueing. Isn't that fascinating?...lol... Ohhh and they were breaking with their playing cue most of the time...haha
Now, we have the tips and chalk that will make you pro player...no miscueing, no squirting, no deflection....but no feeling at all...LOL.
Miss those times for sure...
