How to CLEAN Irish Linen wrap ?

There's a great article in the May (1990) edition of Pool & Billiard Magazine. In short it states the sweaty substance excreted from your hands turns into a wax that sticks to everything (chalk, powder, pieces of cloth etc.) to clean you have to break up the wax deposits on not only your wrap (linen or leather ) your shaft etc. that's why alcohol works so well. They went on to recommend carting per packaged "Handi-Wipes" in your case to clean hands & shaft during play. If linen is real dirty I've used "Woolite" as it doesn't lift linen strands. (If you don't soak the wrap!) I also use dryer sheets to burnish. My 26 yr. old Joss's wraps are in great condition but I still can't find a way to get the nicotine stains out. Guess that's just patina.

I have been using Diamondback Irish Linen Wrap Cleaner for a while now with good results. Spray it on and wipe it off with a lint free cloth. Amazing how much chalk dust accumulates in the wrap. It also does a good job of of removing (or at least covering) smoke smell.

OF COURSE i have my cue rewrapped every time it gets dirty!

I also only wear my shirts once, and then throw them away, because they'll NEVER feel just like a new shirt again!

(GEEZ, what planet do these guys live on?)

Any of the home 'dry cleaning' substitutes sold at the 5&dime work well also.

My palms sweat furiously during important matches, and I've never had the wrap changed on my 1984 John Robinson custom. But I DO clean it every 3 months. It looks and feels fine.
