How To Get Rep Points

Rep Points:

I have not been posting on a consistent basis for very long but I realize that intelligent posts will get rep points. I enjoy seeing a good rep because it tells me that I have added something intelligent to a conversation. Quality forums must have intelligent posters. This site is filled with them. I am begining to give rep points to good posts. I appreciate reading them. I also try to pm people who give me rep points. Kind of like an electronic thank you card.

how come when i go to ive reputation points to certain people it tells me i need to spread my seed around a bit more before i give it to them again?

i obviously understand what it means, but does anybody know how much you can give out before it's deemed too much?

this is regarding giving reputation points to roadie and rackemsuckr. they must be consistently be putting up classy posts! still, isn't a public accolade like this just as good as a reputation point anyway? :D

What I want to know is, has anyone ever gotten mad at you and given you good rep for it? :p

Anyway, I like the rep marks. It reminds me of score beads. Right now, whenever I glance at my name & rep, I feel like I'm on the hill in a race to 5. :D

I say, make a good, valid point in the middle of a debate, say something really funny, or just plain help someone out. Those are the requirements for rep for me.


(...by the way, can you even get more than 11 greenies?!?)

OH, CRAP!!! I just tried to give cuetechasaurus BAD rep and forgot to check the correct radio button and gave him GOOD rep. Dohhhhhh . . .:o :rolleyes:

I'll make up for it by give Jude BAD rep. :p :D

LMAO!!

I think this whole rep thing would be more satisfying if it played a little animation when you give it, like a mini Mario turning into a Super Mario, or somethin. Every now and then when I give a rep, I notice that it pushed the person up to the next greenie, which is always nice. Ah, life's simple pleasures. LOL. :p

We could have a rep-war!!! We can form alliances and battle it out to see who can gain the power of rep!
 
The problem with these rep points seems to me that you 'max out' after awhile so if you hang around long enough, your rep is bound to be good. How about a system where every 5 posts or so, if you don't get a positive 'rep' they deduct from you?

Actually id like to see the whole rep point thing canned.

I seem to recall a thread in the NPR section quite awhile ago where someone went to give cue bad rep but gave bad rep to someone else in the thread... IIRC, it was a thread that cue started asking people to give him bad rep... it was quite comical! :D

Not necessarily classy, lol. Sometimes thought-provoking, sometimes humorous, sometimes helpful, sometimes silly, most always heartfelt.

HAHA, I read that thread once before. Its still funny the second time around! I'm going to give Cuetechasaurus some more bad rep. It seems like he's been stuck on 7 for a while.
