how to get to vegas through APA

I am not even sure why you bother to even open APA threads.

Your league isn't even a pimple on the ass of the APA.

Well that's one fat hairy ass. In shiny black yoga pants. Mmmmm.

Those 100 posts are from 3 or 4 people, two of which did not even go to the Nationals!!

Troll whiners.

My post was in jest...i guess you missed the smiley face at the end of my post.

Guess you oughta get your facts straight before you make remarks like above. I went to the discrepancy thread and counted 10 different posters on just the 1st page. Did not bother counting any more in that thread or the other thread af all.

Still wanna debate with me ?

Contrary to popular opinion you don't have to win your way to play APA in Vegas

Join the APA. Play 20 matches within a two year period. Grab cheap flight to Vegas. Play minis and eat buffets until you're too pooped to pop. Go home. Return next year.

I told you once before in a thread regarding apa where you made some smart ass remarks and I think it bears repeating here.

I have no problem with any league. Although I defend apa quite frequently on here I dont claim its any better or worse than any other league.

My opinion is just that an opinion . I have no problem with people having different opinions at all.. Life would be boring if everyone had the same opinion.

How people express their opinions says a lot about the character of that person. Now I am not calling you an asshole but the way you express your opinions regarding certain subjects defines you as one.

Now I would have no problem playing bcapl but it would never be your league because of the way you express your self. You can say so what....i dont need your ass in my league. The thing is I am sure you have people in your league would feel the same way I do I they ever read some of your posts on this forum.

I play both BCA & APA. They both have good & differen things to offer you. Don't listen to the APA sucks crowd. Most probably just caught a SL5 on a good night & got rolled. Happens to everyone.

Play it, get better, and enjoy.

The amount of sandbagging people think/claim happens is probably the biggest myth since Loch-ness monster.

I played apa and Napa at the same time a few years ago. Although they are completely different I loved both because bottom line I love playing pool

I dont get all this hate towards apa or this league is better than that league crap.

As far as 5's go......well you could be describing me. I cant tell you how many times I have been called a sandbagger. It used to bother me . After a other 5 called mw one after losing to mw by 1 point I realized people juat gotta blame every thing and every one for their losses. They cant accept the reason they lost is staring right at them in the mirror.

Sure I'll debate with you. I saw the smiley and knew your post was in jest. My post was simply a sign of frustration that so many people that don't even go to the Nationals find it ok to come on AZB and bash the payouts or the new rating system or the BCAPL in general. If you say its 10 people in that thread then I trust you. I still think my percentages are right.

Am I hypocritical when I bash the APA? A little. I have many players in my league that also play the local APA league, and many that have played a variety of leagues from around the country. Every one of them says the APA sucks and that our league is the best they have ever seen. Maybe they are lying. Maybe they don't know better. I trust their opinion.

As far as your opinion of me posting that pic...it was in reply to someone's "pimple on the ass" post. And I prefer to think of myself as a jackass, not an asshole. I have even won awards to that end.

So let me get this straight, it annoys you when someone doesn't participate in something but still has an opinion on it? Are you real life? Exactly what you're doing here. Seriously, pot meet kettle.

We have 2 teams going from here. 1 in 9 ball, 1 in 8 ball. Both teams have to drive 4 hrs to 5 hrs to get to the airport for their first flight. They have to pay for all the gas and parking at the airport while gone and then drive 4 to 5 hrs to get home when they land. Its the worst league I have ever seen. The best thing to do is not join at all and just pay your BCA fee get on a team there and go. I played APA once years and saw right off what they were all about. Its a money racket for the league operator's. I told these guys here that when they got there they should all as a team go to the APA booth and tell them what they had to go through to get there and tell them this would be the last year they are playing. Whether they do it or not is up to them. We have an NAPA league here that is going pretty well. Maybe check into that and see if its offered around you. From what I have read about Vegas lately, Its not worth going anyway. JMO

I am not going to bash bcapl like you are apa but instead will make a couple of observations based on your comments.

Fees...yearly fess are about the same but apa is a money grubber and bcapl is not ?

Nationals....after you pay roughly 300.00 a year for either league you earm the spot at nationals in apa where you are given money to cover your air fare and rooms. Plus a lil spending money...plus another approximately 350.00 for the team when you arrive in Vegas.in bcapl if you WA t to vo you gotta pay approximately 1,000.00 on top ox your 300.00 yearly fee to go.

Airports....does bcapl happen to have their own airport close to you so bcapl members you don't have to drive 4-5 hours fo the public one apa uses ?

I just gotta say ya'll apa.bashers come up with some weird reasons to bate on apa when you are faced with the same crap in bcapl but yet it some how does not apply to them also.

Speaking of airports....i recall a few years ago when my team we t to Vegas that a couple of teams elected to drive to little rock to fly fo Vegas where az most teams elected fo fly out of Memphis as .mine did..it seems little rock was a little cheaper.

As for Napa I agree...its a great league..i played at 2 nationals....Nashville and tunica.

I dont know how Michigan was but I heard a lot of negative about Atlanta nationals.

I find that South West Airlines is the best way though not the cheapest.

Other than that, if you wish to go and compete ti the World Team Championships (Is that the new name?), you must first qualify. Winning your divisional playoffs thus qualifying for your LTC, or Local Team Championships, usually held in May or June, then winning a qualifying spot there for the World Team Championships held in August.
or....

You could do what my team had done before. We make reservations in about March, we seem to get better prices then and decide to go qualify or not. If we don't qualify there are mini's to play in, local pool halls there, and it's always good and fun to have the experience of just being there, it's kinda like pool city for a couple of weeks and it can be a culture shock though

Going to Vegas is an amazing experience. It was the most fun I ever had (the 1 time that I went). Qualifying is not easy. You need a really strong team, and that team needs to not only be not only great, but also great at sandbagging. It is not easy.

You absolutely do not have to Sandbag. My team is going & I can guarantee you we do not sandbag. The rest of what you wrote is true, it's wicked hard. We had some miracle wins to qualify.

Unfortunatly I find that people from all areas seem to be sandbaggers. It sucks because for those who try and have a fair handicap get trashed in Vegas. To each their own though, I cant say I've never tried it to hustle

Dude, why you gotta be like that? It's widely known that you're not an APA fan, I think we all get that, nobody's gonna change your mind, you don't like The APA and would never become a member. That's all probably for the best.

For various reasons some of us would never, or never again play BCA particularly in Santa Barbara, and that's probably for the best. So let it go. This thread had nothing to do with you, your league or anything about you, but you had to and fire off a post that wasn't needed, wanted, or reflective of the question asked by the OP and wasn't constructive in the very least.

You don't care for the APA, you don't like the people that play APA,

EVERYBODY GOT THAT !!!???

Now let it be. Write some positive posts about your league instead of trying to tear down the APA. Like it or not, The APA has been very successful, where yours has done pretty well, but not to the level of the APA. I would think it might serve you and your customers a whole lot better if you tried to build yours to the success level of The APA instead of trying to bring The APA down to yours.

Nice trophy.....

Interesting.....
I see you'really from an area of the country that always manages to do pretty well in Las Vegas

So the time you were in Las Vegas your team was loaded with sandbaggers?
(otherwise how would you ever have qualified? - right?)
You all must have won the prize that year, when was that?

4-5 hours!?!? Holy smoke, what pat of VA is 4-5 hours away from an airport?

Yep, and that's why your league is the size it is, after what, 20 years? Two different target markets - maybe APA just isn't for some of the players in your target market. The APA league right next to you is way more popular than that, I saw recently where they are in the top 25 APA leagues ANYWHERE, in terms of team count. Their membership is about 15 times yours. I hear they also have some BCAPL leagues in their area, which means their players have a choice and STILL choose APA, including the ones who also play in your league. Have you ever asked them why they still play APA, if they think it sucks?

Maybe APA doesn't suck for APA's target market. Maybe it just sucks for some of yours.
