How to make a wrap tacky?

I play with a rubber slip over wrap used by 3 cushion billiard players branded Sang Lee. It has a tacky feel to it that I love. Is there any way to get this feel on a leather wrap? I know it sounds funny, but maybe something like spilling soda on a leather wrap would make it tacky. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks.

Resin

You might try getting one of the little resin bags that bowlers use to make there fingertips grip the ball better. You could dust a little of the resin on the wrap and it should give it that tacky feel you're looking for.

Golf supply shops used to carry a product to make leather golf grips tacky. I haven't looked for it in a few decades, however.

tacky

I recently got to play with Strickland's cue and he replaced the 'regular' wrap with a tennis racket grip. I know it sounds funny, but it was awesome! Very tacky feeling. Check out a local tennis shop and check them out. Another option you may like is a cork wrap. They have a very nice feel to them as well.

Depends on "leather" as well .. I luv Kangaroo wraps ... they are soft and tacky .... similar to golf grips.

I, sometimes, get my leather tacky by watching some XXX stuff

Thanks for the suggestions. I've decided to stick with the rubber slip over wrap, and possibly have a groove cut into a cue to accommodate it.

Thanks.

grip

To make the wrap tacky use a 3 parts Lexol to 1 part Glycerene. If you want more tack, increase the proportion of glycerene.
