How to pass time waiting for next match in tournament?

What are some ideas one can do to help pass time productively and prepare themselves mentally for their next match? I noticed Karen Corr at a tournament recently sitting on a stool with headphones in and looked like she was sleeping. I'm just guessing she was meditating? I hear Earl takes a Viagra 30 minutes before his next match. Earl is one of my favorites, but I'll pass on the Viagra idea.

Staying in stroke, working on shots if possible

You can watch some youtube videos of pro matches, those always pump me up and make me want to shoot more pool.

Otherwise, you can find who you believe to be the best player in the tournament and observe his match. Or you can scout on your next potential opponent and study his game, see how you beat him strategically, is he bad at kicking? Play more safeties. etc.

Leave the tournament area....get out of the bldg.... relax and get some rest.... Sitting in the playing area and waiting for a match is actually an energy drain. Come back a short time before your match feeling refreshed and ready to refocus on the task at hand .

All the preparation for playing in a tourney should have been done well before the tourney (practice, gambling, etc.). Playing in a tourney is not the place to try something new!

What I do is listen to audio books between matches. It takes my mind off the pressure of upcoming matches and helps me relax.

There is an app called Overdrive for downloading books from your local library. You can download books, movies or periodicals. All you need is a current library card.

And the best part: IT'S FREE!

Works for me!

Most of the time, the other tables are taken either by other tourney matches or rented by customers. They usually dont free up until closer to the end of the tourney and evening. When they open up I usually shoot long shots just to help keep my accuracy in check.

Before all that though when no tables are available, i usually just talk to friends and other players who are waiting also, or put my headphones in and zone out.

Remember to eat food. Wash my hands. Keep my mind on things related to my shooting. Step outside for fresh air.

Watching other matches is good too for a few min.

My favorite things to do between matches:

1. Pandora or Spotify with headphones

2. Light types of food (aka no fries, burgers, chicken sandwiches, etc.) if I'm hungry

3. Grab a water and 1 (emphasis on 1) beer.

4. Go for a short walk and stretch

5. Go watch another match from the gallery if can do so without being rude

Boom! That's the ticket.
Ideally sativa, some of that high test indica won't do you any favours.

White sambuca and a little burn (in the vape pen) is magic for me.
