How a pro plays this shot and how most of us would / should play it are two completely different things. With the cue ball that close to the cushion at that angle, making it in the side pocket and stroking it with enough speed and spin to get around three cushions is not easy, at least it would not be for me. It's a punch shot hit the cb about 3 o'clock.
