Have a cue with a small chip in the ivory joint - any recommendations on what to use to smooth this out ? Was thinking of some sort of a rubbing compound -

Thanks -

take a pic and put it up....a small chip in the joint doesnt really say anything as it depends on where the chip is as per/ what you need to do

You can't really "FIX" a chip in Ivory. It can be turn down a little & then refinished, but the right way to do it is to cut the Ivory piece off & replace it...JER

Yes, and that rubbing compound is sand paper..... <~~~kidding!

I wouldn't recommend it though.....

Your best bet at getting a confirmed opinion here is to post a close up pic.......

however; regardless of what any of us say, if you want it fixed right, you are going to have to take it to a qualified individual.

Thanks for the posts - I don't have a close-up lens for my camera yet - it's very very small though (I know it's there) -

It's on the edge where the joint becomes flat - I just want to smooth it out and apply something to seal it -
