I just picked up a table from my uncles and they repainted the rails so I cannot see the plate on the end rail. Its rectangle if that means anything?

Also the rubber is flush with the rail, so rather then slopping downwards its completely flush.

I can add a pic but if anyone knows right away please help me out.

post a pic of the table and someone will tell you what you got. I personally can't wait to see this paint job.

A pic would help. I'm resisting the urge to say "fire a ball down the rail and see if it rattles." Seriously, if the rubber is flush straight out from the rail it's probably 'century' rubber, and a Brunswick.

I really dont think the paint is to bad at all

Roc

Not what I was expecting. 'Republic of China'= ROC. Clean off the nameplate if you can. Many chinese tables have no nameplate at all.

I really think its a olhausen sheraton. ill shoot some pics tomorrow of the legs. damn it I guess this might mean the rails and pockets are going to play like shit

I think your guess is right. Slate, frame, and rails all look like Olhausen. That frame does look like the Sheraton design.

So I took the cloth off the rails and was hoping if you guys could help me figure out if its a K 55 or a K 66 profile. The Rail core is 1.5 inches, the dim is 1.25 inches. and the rubber that was on there is championship fleetwood. Here are the pics

Those older Olhausens take a K66

The next question is pocket angle. With the older olhausens will they have the problem that the new tables with accu fast rails have?

Oh thats good news right? I hear that the K55 just dont play natural. Also, The next question is pocket angle. With the older olhausens will they have the problem that the new tables with accu fast rails have?

The K55 play good on a table made to take K55 rubber, or on rails modified to accept K55 rubber. The pocket angles could be corrected on your table and even with Accu-fast cushions, with the right facings, Olhausen rails can play very good.

PM me if you'd like some more information.

Where are you located, and is this a project you're trying to tackle yourself? If so, what level of experience do you have working on tables?

Im located in Houston TX. and had the information completely backwards. K55 is what GC and Diamonds use... Im stuck with K66 which im guessing is inferior considering those two popular tables do not use them. So in this case whats the proper angle? 144 degrees?

And its my first time. I got the table for free and just wanted to mess around at it for a little.

More power to anyone that can tell the table make from those pics - easier to tell what it's not.
Regardless, a freebie table. Once you diamondize it, simoniz it and calibrate it with new artemis pool 66's then
the table make means little.

diamonds use k55 because that is what the rails are designed for.

it's simply a matter of angles ....neither profile is better or worse. you just need to have the right one...

artemis is the best

Exactly...Diamond and Brunswick have a thicker rail but to take K55. Olhausen rails are not as thick and are cut to play good with K66. Accu-fast is a good playing rubber in my opinion, but the problem with them is at the ends of the rails. Between the facings and angles, you have a lot of control over how the pocket area plays.

The Olhausens have a shallower shelf, so it won't play quite the same as a Gold Crown or Diamond, but I've modified a few with very good results.

Pocket angles can be changed, you want a K66 profile cushion to go on them rails, and a nose height of 1 5/16"s if there's no cloth relief on the bottom of the rail where the cloth staples to.

So I decided to let one of my buddies dalton tackle this table on. he does it for a living and seems to know what hes talking about. Ill post pictures after its completed.

Hope it works out for you. There's a big difference between those that seem
to know what they're talking about and those that actually do. Good luck.
:D
