how would you run these 3 balls?

hey everybody, in an attempt to guage in a fairly basic sense of how different people would run 3 balls.

please assume all 3 balls are touching the rail and in the middle diamond of their respective rails. you have ball in hand.

thanks for the help, i'm mostly just looking to see if my line of thinking is consistent with what some of the top players here would say.

I'd take a side with a little outside english+draw to come back to the other side, follow to end rail.

I would

try to do it a little something like this...

)END

Another question

How would most of you people on here play this shot? What english would you apply? I know many things can come into play here like position, but say you are shooting this last shot for the win. What would you put on it? I myself would hit it with some right/outside english on it and try to spin it in. Is this the most common way, or would most of you use inside or no english at all. Tahnks in advance for answers.

I would shoot the 12 follow down a few inches for the the 15 and then go to the 10. I think I could to it almost a 100% of the time.

Just center ball

I would definitely shoot the twelve first because I'm right handed and that is the toughest one to reach comfortably if I get a little out of line. Then ten and 15 last.

Agree. This is how I would do it.

I would get them all about 90%, except for last night when I couldn't make two in a row with BIH, several times. One time I didn't make one in a row.

If you are right handed, you are supposed to play the 12 in the lower left corner, follow down and leave an angle for the 15 in the upper left corner, then follow for the 10 in the upper left corner. Any other way is a lower percentage to get out.

I am not sure if I am 100% from here but I agree with your route. I was surprised to see so many say they would go side-side-then endrail.
I guess we are all different

I would start with the 15 because that would be the hardest to get shape on. Start with a shallow angle and shooting center ball so the CB goes to the middle of the table favoring one of the other balls. The next ball would be the one that the cue is closest to. Shooting that ball will a little low outside (rail side) so the CB goes across table almost to the rail for the last ball.

Basically you have 3 balls so you can have 6 different combos of running so you will have 6 different opinions. Try all 6 and see what is the easiest for you. That is what practice is for.

You may also end up in the same situation without the luxury of BH.

This is also part of one of Bert Kinister's drills for CB control.

What you are showing is part of Bert Kinisters "Six Pointed Star" drill. On his instructional video he gets you to set up 3 balls exactly you've shown.Eventually you set up another three balls in the exact same way on the other side of the table for a total of 6 balls, henceforth "The Six pointed Star"

Learn how to run off all 6, with their various recovery shots and this drill will save you many times in a game of nine ball.Overall it's an excellent drill for anyone looking for improvement in their game.

I didn't realize he meant starting with ball in hand. I was thinking "bank the 12 cross corner with a little outside english, go 2 or 3 rails for a slight angle on the 10, use follow to pocket the 10 and come down to the other side of the 15."

And as for theoneandonly's shot, I'd just use a natural roll (half a tip or maybe one tip above center, no side at all).

its most likely wrong but its what I would do.

Agreed. Any shot that requires side-spin, imo, is going to have a negative effect on your success %, especially when dealing with balls frozen to the rail. I prefer to stay on the vertical axis whenever possible.

Forgot the comment.
Three shots. All center ball. No english, draw or follow, just center ball.

I agree.
If you get straight on the 15, you can still shoot the other ball to the other end.
It's pretty low risk to get straight on the 15 when you start with an angle on either side-rail ball.
Plus, if you start with 10 to get shape on the 12, you might scratch to the side pocket.
