I no longer play league i guess after 43 years i got burned out. I started playing league in Downey ca in 1968, played in OKC, Lake Havasu City AZ, Kansas City, and Warsaw Mo.

I always ended upn a winning team, just by dumb luck. I am playing in a bca league when scoring was 10 points for a win and the loser got 1 point for each ball.

We are playing at home and the team is just burning hot, 1st player breaks, makes a ball and runs out, 2nd player breaks makes a ball runs out. 3rd player, me, breaks makes 2 balls and runs out, 4th player breaks makes a ball runs out. Now its the team captain, hes under pressure, he breaks makes a ball and runs out.

5 break and runs the other team never got to the table that round, only time it has happened to me in 43 years
.
Score was 50 to 1, you know that 3rd break yep i made one of each on the break so the other team got 1 point for that ball

Thats where the ragging began, if not for me we would have had a perfect score, you just cannot please some people !!!!!.

I cannot believe that they weren't doing it in jest. With a run like that happening once in a hundred years, the levity of the group had to be really high, and guys turn their joking into jabs at that level. You broke and ran, it wasn't like you turned over the game.

I only pick on people I like. I would just give it back to them. :D

My teammates on both teams (4 of us in common to both teams) all like each other and get along well. Many of us get together away from league (along with many players from other teams) as well.

Its kinda like family. If you like them, you often will razz them a bit....friends can be like that.

it was all in fun

point being, only could your team mates find fault in an almost perfect round.

Always had fun on league teams we might have told you you had to sit out next week if you couldn't play any better
I play on a good team with good players and catch hell for slacking and allowing the other team to win some games.
Congrats on your teams achievments.

My story comes from an APA 8 ball night. I'm playing in the first match. I play with headphones. In the third rack I have six balls on the table, he is on the eight. He can't get out because the eight is blocked by one of my balls, I can't get out for the same reason. I play a shot just to move one of my balls towards a pocket knowing he has to make a good hit, maybe leaving me a run. When I walk away from the table my teammate comes up behind me (remember, headphones) and starts to talk to me. Next thing I know he pulls one of my headphone out and proceeds to scream at me. I mean loud. Fu fu, you're a dick yada yada yada. No clue why this happened. The match ges hill hill and I won, but I was the only one to give up a point. I have LTC's with this team tonight. Should be interesting

When I am looking at playing on a team, the first thing I look at is the personalities of those on the team. Yes I want to be competitive, but I also don't give a rat turd about being on a team with a bunch of morons and alpha personalties. It's not worth the agrivation in my view. I'm not there to be hassled, I'm there for some fun, relaxation, and to win.

Though we may have disagreements from time to time, my team is tight like a family. We treat each other with respect, and have a lot of fun joking and ribbing each other. We were in first place this year by 15 games with 2 weeks to play so we had it locked. Just goes to show you that you can have some great team mates, have fun, and still win.

i have played apa for 3 years...for a while i was playing 3 divisions a week. played 2 diff teams for a year in bcapl. played on 3 diff teams in napa. for the last 2 years. played on 2 diff teams for 2 years in a travel money league.

not once during this time has any one on any team ever pulled what your team mate did .

i am always amazed how a lot of you guys encounter asshats all the time. not saying my area is perfect....but i have never encountered the crap a lot of you seem to encounter .

Lol, you make the best break and they are upset because you run out. If it happens again, get straight on the 8, follow it in and turn to your teammates and say, " sorry guys, rookie error".

Sounds like fun, I'm sure they were just messing with you.

Most fun I ever had in leagues was a team I was on in 2006. We used to have a standing bet, first guy to lose a game payed everyone else's league fees that night. Made for some good pool and also some of that similar ribbing.
