Huebler custom ,pinging sound

Well a customer asked me if i could help with his custom Huebler cue , it is making a pinging or clink sound coming from the A -joint , at least to me it sounds like it , i have checked the pin the collar , and he has told me that the weight bolt is glued in place , do any of you guys know where else to look or examine , i was thinking of removing linen wrap and looking for cracks....

It is possible that it's the -A- joint. The weight bolt being glued is not common. Heublers weight bolt system is like a lamp post. It has an aluminum bolt which the butt cap threads on to and the inside of it is threaded to accept the 3/8x16 weight bolt. Proceed with caution.
 
Yes lots of caution !!! I was yhinking maybe glue came loose on weight bolt but sound is coming from prong area ,i would like to remove weight bolt but it is on there good

The reason I wanted to see the wrap joint was to see if the cue had phenolic or plastic rings between all wood surfaces. But I can't tell from the picture for sure.
 
It looks like horn rings or phenolic but heres the best pic i can take

If directly above the wrap isn't glare but rather lifting of the finish,
that would suggest movement. The wrap's gotta go if you're gonna know.
 
I was afraid of the linnen needing to go but you are correct i or we need to know ,theres kool story behind cue ,my mentor says he won this cue in the 90s ,then traded it for a vw ,sounds crazy but i like it

No but evrthing has a price ,it does have ob shaft with nylon insert and 2 original shafts

I gave my daughter the same cue. She does not want to play with it because both shafts and the forearm were signed by Paul Huebler. It is never played condition. I am more interested in the shafts but if the price was right would not mind buying it. What would be a fair price as is and is the OB shaft for sale. Thanks, Bob
 
I wll ask him but wat is a fai price to you may not be for him ,and id say all shafts go
