Huebler input needed...

I have what I have been told maybe @ '80 era Huebler I'm thinking of selling. Doug Patrick refinish it for me last winter and he did it very well...It's sweet!
Never really play with it since Doug's work, so it's not dinged at all. Rolls straight with maybe a hair of taper roll that really isn't noticeable...I cant see it. It's original to cue and right at 12m.m. I had Guido from Mich. straighten/true the taper when he was here last at the River City Open doing repairs. even though it's thin, it still hits firm/solid.
Weighs @ 19 oz. Not fat in the butt. Very smooth hittin' cue...Paul built great cues. Wrap was done by Guido also and it's black with maroon speck. I'm on the fence over selling, but want an A.R. rifle...So need to build some cash.
I've noticed that there are a few Huebler collector/fans on here so hoping to get a good estimation on value/details from someone? Can't find it listed as one of his production models.
I'll keep it before I give it away though...It will be collectable if not already I have been told. Any thought would be appreciated...Thanx, AJ

Huebler Info

Very nice and unusual Huebler from the 90's by the logo. Paul Huebler had a Custom Shop and Custom cue line but has told me any cue is custom if specially ordered and not from his production or custom cue line.
Not easy to put a price on in these uncertain economic times. Big plus to be refinished but usually not enough to recoup your investment. The small shaft is a negative to most buyers. I would have an extra made about 13mm if I owned it. I would guess the value at $400-500 minimum to those who know Hueblers. The cue is as nice as a lot of the lower end Huebler Customs. Great long points and ringwork. I wish I owned it. Good luck.

huebler value

I would concur with bob, that is certainly a nice Huebler and certainly $400-500 is a fair price... The condition is wonderful, I wish there were more out there and I had more $$ because I would love to start a real collection of them

I've agree with bobalouiecda that the cue is from the 90's. Its simaular to the AS-H7 which is in the blue book of cues. I think my girlfriend has the same cue you have. I refinsh it in blue/pink design. My family has a retail billiard store and we were a huebler dealer for about 25 years I will look through my old catalogs and should be able to find the model. Good luck with the sale.

Thanx guy's..I have been told that this was similar to the AS-H series but they couldn't place the ringwork so I guess it isn't a production run? I have seen this style logo on early 80's cues-friend owned one.
I saw one on E-Bay a couple years back, but none since. I was going to have a shaft made if I was sure to keep, and was told the ring work would be expensive to replicate.
I don't normally like thin shafts cause most I have hit with seem real "whippy" but this one hits firm. I already have more money in it after initial cost/refinish to justify added cost for a new shaft that's @ 13m.m. that I prefer...
I really like Doug Patricks' cues(own one) and would trade towards one of his....I see there's a few on here every now & then. May even trade for another? I like traditional point style cues.
I don't want to put the money into it for a larger shaft, so I'm down to this. Not desperate to take a major hit either and many Huebler guys know that Paul no longer makes cues so this may be a good investment.
I work 3rd shift, so sleep days and reply on here at strange times.
I really appreciate the recieved feedback. I've owned this for a few years now and have been wanting to find out some details on it. Figured I get some intel here! thanx, AJ:thumbup:

Forgot to mention that It has a Predator 314-2 that fits perfectly. Shaft ring is black, but diameter fits joint/no overlap. Thought about having someone make a matching ring...didn't happen.
It's the standard 314-2...No nylon Huebler insert. I used this shaft to keep the miles off the original. Its in great shape also....Nother pic...Peace, A.J.

Huebler Thoughts

The points and veneers on your cue are the best I have seen. Not many
of Hueblers cues I see make me wish I owned them. He made a few great cues and many average cues. Yours is one of the best. It does not take hundreds of inlays to be impressive.

Thanx Bob..May trade for a cue thats interesting to me? Just dont like the 12m.m. shaft, and dont wanna spend more to have a new shaft built. Ready for a change I guess.

Don't forget me on the old catalog look-see for me okay???? Would really like to know if it was a production run or not...I always thought that if Paul made an off-line cue, it was considered and labeled "Custom Shop" on the buttcap, but apparently not?
*AJ..

sorry it took me awhile to get back to you was out of town for a few days that is the same cue my girlfriend has we start dating in 02 and i refinished the cue in 03? we had the cue sitting around the shop for about 7/8 years before i work on it it was new when i refinish it the finish had some flaws in it and we just never send it back in i know it was in huebler regular line of cues seems to be it was about $395 my dad pull out some old huebler catalogs early 70's i think we have the 1st catalog printed my dad knew paul pretty well we see him at the bca shows and they talk on the phone ever time we order something or paul would just call to talk i'll keep looking for the catalog didn't find it yet to see if i can find the model

Thanx Retro...Ive had a few offers but will keep it if I dont get a 5-hundie offer...It is very nice and will be worth more down the road....Paul retired--no more made. Will send the Predator 314-2 shaft along for the ride.Thanx for the great comments/offers though! Peace,AJ
