Human remains left at Poker Tourny

A Saint Louis bar down the street from Cue & Cushion had a Poker tournament last Thursday. Friday morning a black plastic container was found left at the bar. After a couple days the bartender admitted that someone left the ashes of a relative at the tourny and she was supposed to give them to a player who was coming in to play Friday. She was drinking that night and has forgotten who is supposed to take possession. :embarrassed2: So, if you are missing "grandpa" and were supposed to pick him up at a poker tourny...he's underneath the cash register next to the beer cooler.

Now I have heard everything. :grin:

I left my grandmas ashes at a bar in St. Louis the other day. Man, I thought I got lucky, but see that a grandpa was left. Oh well, I am sure that things like this happen all the time. :embarrassed2:


P.S. I am not trying to be insulting to the person this happened to; just trying to be funny.

at Cuetopia in Vegas over table 16 was Rex Cannon's ashes, he lived in Vegas his whole life, or he got to town in the 30's or something like that. Anyways he was a life long one pocket player, he had played everyone it seemed over the years, he wasnt a top champion but sill a man who loved 1P and shared what he knew with some people, he was in terrible pain his last few years. When he passed away from my understanding he didnt have any family, anyways his ashes were in a light blue metal box on the light over table 16(the 1P table).

I had moved to Ca and hadnt been in the poolroom for along time when I saw the box I knew that had to be Rex, it was. I didnt get back to that room but 2 or 3 times, anyways this last Reno tournment I saw Fred Gureno the room's owner-it had been out of business for a few years now like 8 or 10. I asked him "What did you do with Rex's ashed when you closed?" Fred said "Someone stole them on the grave yard shift a year or two before he closed the business" Man thats brutal just disrespectful and brutal to steal someones remains, Rex is a ledgend in Vegas, he played pool here for 40 50 years.

Reminds me of a movie I saw, where someone was holding their grandma's ahes and a drunk guy flips his cigar ash in it, and say's something like, "looks like Granny's gaining a little weight".
Takes all kinds of people to make the world go round.
