Humidity and the break

It's that time of year again in pa boys and girls! Humidity has arrived and it plays hell with my game! Well over all I can make the adjustment in my run outs fine but it kills my break! Where ever I break from nothing happens. At least 5 balls stay up table and clustered and I'm lucky to drop a ball. I have two beak spots I use. Dead center from the spot hitting middle or I aim the cue ball in a straight line through the 1 and 7 or 8 position and again hit through it with middle. Works great through out the fall and winter but let summer come along and nothing! Lol. 8 ball I break center ball in and that doesn't seem to be effected so much as I can tell. Do any of you change your spot for the summer? If so what adjustments do you make?
 
All I can tell you is that in very humid conditions the cloth is slower, the rails are faster (bouncy), and they play much shorter. Each table is different but the balls come out of the rack slower and off the rails at different angles than when dry. You just have move the CB to different spot when breaking and hit harder or softer. Johnnyt
 
trob - How taught/loose is your cloth? That could be more important than the actual RH.

I usually switch to the side rail for my breaks in humid conditions. i just feel i can generate more cue speed
 
any powder or chalk in the cloth and under it will attract moisture. especially powder. That combination can really slow down the cloth and also effect the seating of the balls in the rack.
 
I'm from PA and I actually find that a softer break from the center while hitting the head ball squarely with high english works for me when its humid out. Through the colder months I break at the diamond between center and the rail with a much harder hit. I also clean my balls more often as they seem to get dirty much quicker.
