I’m traveling thru Huntsville tonight if someone wants some cheap action. Probably around 6pm

Huntsville - what memories of playing straight pool there with Johnny Tona who owned Family Billiards there in 1989- Johnny was set up with Brunswick by Willie Mosconi himself as a fellow Italiano! Johnny was also a professional fiddle player- not many Sicilians doing that in the deep South! He was a fabulous 14.1 and 9 baller - and a great guy too. Irving Crane had a Balabushka made for him, that he sold to someone in 1988 for several thousand- I think it was a collector who knew he had one and sought out Johnny for the purchase- poor Johnny - his former wife and a Realtor in Huntsville swindled him out of his house and he ended up living in a rented trailer. I met johnny at the US OPEN 14.1 in 1989 Chicago.

Johnny Tona also had a TV show around pool that was put together by the local TV staion in Huntsville. One of my road partners and I visited there about a week running around and I met Johnny , great guy and knew some pool. Got to see the TV show deal while resting up. That was back in 80 or maybe 81.

I'm 65 and, born and raised in Birmingham. Never did go to Huntsville for anything, wished I had of met y'all back then. I was 35 back in 1989.
I did live in Denver '99 - '06 and got to see Danny Medina play many times. (RIP Danny)
