I made this post in the snooker section but never got any replies
so I will give it a chance in the main forum.

I figured I would post here because they are generally seen in the UK worn by snooker players. I want to order a pair but I want an honest opinion how they compare to other glasses. How heavy are they, is the quality decent and so on. Need a reply from an actual user.

Also, I see hurricane 2 and hurricane 3 advertised. Does anyone know the difference?

Thank you in advance.

I don't have an answer for your question

I am looking for glasses also. It seems you have to go to Canada or the UK to order. Does anyone know if there is anything available in the USA?

It sure would be nice if you go go to a local eyeglass place, tell them what you are looking for and have them order a frame for you to try. I'd even pay a slight fee if they had to return them because you didn't like.

Has anyone ever done anything like this?

IMO you should go to your nearest opticians and show the model you are looking for and get them to order in samples to your correct prescription. At least this way you won't need to spend on a pair that done work or are uncomfortable

Your local optician may be able to order frames on approval but I doubt they can get samples with your specific RX just for you to try on. But it does seem plausible that if you show your eye doctor at least a picture of what you are talking about and explain why you need them they could probably source least a few frames that would work. It's just a specialty need that doesn't inherently fit in with the current fashion so it is unlikely that they will have them in stock on the shelf.

Jerry Forsyth posted on here how he had lost much of his enjoyment for playing pool over the last few years because of his declining eyesight. I am in the very same situation with lots of vision issues.

He considered a few different pool/billiards eyeglass options and ended up going with Curran Optical in PA. He says he is every happy with the glasses and is back to enjoying pool.

I have ordered a pair and should have them later this week.

I'm really looking forward to receiving them and will post about them once I've tried them out.

macguy, I don't have any 1st or 2nd hand knowledge of the Hurricanes.

best,
brian kc
