Hi all pool cues fans,I just bought 2 cues on ebay and was wondering if I did a great deal.Let me know what you think

Vass
Yeah, Vass, you did - I lost $260 on those two cues. Congratulations.

You did and you didin't

For conversion cues you didn't but for collectables you stole them.
The oak titlist will be to thin and light to make a great player sight unseen but it is pretty.
For a conversion fat heavy even point blanks are needed to make a player that is beautiful as wellas firm! .85 inch or bigger is best 4 inches above the points! And of course this will mean a heavier wood and a heavier cue almost every time!
Nice buy Vass!
Talk soon!
Nick

Vass,

You got great deals. The titlist is worth $350 easy. The 26 1/2 went way too cheap. It depends on the points being repaired with putty - how obvious the repair is.

Could be, but he's not talking about the Oak Titlist - he won two others. Also, there is a 'twin' to the oak Titlist cue that is already in the hands of a cue-maker - says it is a great example and might be able to do full-splice, no wrap. You know the cue-maker, but you could always call him and tell him he's wrong. :)

Hey Vass,

Great buys!

How come you don't like SouthWest's anymore? What have you been playing w/ lately?

Take care,
-Shane

Hey Shane,
I was playing with an older 30 years Kersenbrock cue and thought that was the best cue ever.
Guy shipped one of his High end Ginas and I liked so much and especially the q ball control.
I play my best pool ever. The Ginacue is on my avitar.
I just won a tournament on Saturday, even I don't play as much as I want.

Valley Forge is coming and I'm excited.

Take care Shane.

I only tell him he is wrong if I am not getting the cue! He says you are absolutely great! Must be so. I went brain dead and didn't bid on your Frey. I think that was a keeper!
I actually have stopped buying cues for a while and you are killing me. I want to buy everything almost you have put up for sale! You have good taiste. Our buddy is really out doing himself lately!
Let me know if I can ever save you money on any cues I have laying around and I just might!
Thanks
Nick :)

Gotta agree with Nick, Scott has great taste and has really made me check the bank account several times this week. He is truly a class act and I wish him the best with the rest of the cues he is trying to move.

I think you got a pretty good buy on these cues from Scott myself....especially since I was out for the evenig at league playing pool and I couldn't finish following the auctions   :D ;)

Hey Nick, I don't think I bought an oak titlist ot 26 1/2.

The Oak cue got sold for 370 to smb else.

Vass
I tried bidding for the Oak. My last bid was $360. I think is was right down to the last few minutes then it was won by $361?

The bidder must be living right next to ebay with a very fast connection. Hey at least i help pop up the price a little.

Fast Connection

Gotta love Roadrunner! I wouldn't consider the middle of the Pacific close to anything though...

Hay Ken!

Nick, thanks for the support! I'm not a huge Frey fan, but this one is certainly beautiful and hits like they hit. I buy cues by different makers just to try them. I buy antiques to study, catalog, learn. Overall I break even - lost a little last night, but no big deal.

I am completely in 'sale' mode still, so no buying....unless I see something I want (see, I'm very committed). Trying to get the 'collection' down to something manageable.

Hay Scott!

Vass calls alot and we talk alot. I realized you might not have known that after I posted. He is very happy now!

Thanks Chris! I spoke with Jerry today and he said that you managed to win something the other day for him to convert. I will be sending him one as well, but might be a few more months.
