I don't like my shaft super slick

I feel like when my shaft is super slick, I can't feel it as well in my bridge hand. I feel like my position play is much closer when its a little dirty and I can feel the shaft moving through my fingers. I want a clean, good looking shaft, but don't know a product that cleans the shaft without making it slick. Does anyone know of such a product? Anyone else out there feel the same way?

sandpaper:yikes::groucho::grin-devilish:

or you could just use a damp paper towel, buff.....then buff with a dry one and then burnish with a piece of brown cardboard......

no products necessary

Yes I cant stand smooth shafts either. I need to feel the cue in my bridge. I use nothing on the shaft and only wipe it down when playing in high humidity. They start to turn blue after a while but it just reminds me of how long Ive been using it.

Depends on how smooth is too smooth for you. For me I'll wax my shaft before a big tourney for the purpose of making it too smooth for me. The reason is because when I go to one of these I am super nervous and my hands are super sweaty, but they won't stick to the shaft at all (that's how smooth I make it). To make it this way I'll clean it, burnish it, wax it and then burnish it again. If my hands aren't sweaty I really can't even feel it that much....feels like a breeze going through my fingers.

For you just try a few things on making your shaft feel exactly the way you want it.

Before your shaft gets dirty....or after you clean it.

Put a little bit of baby oil on your fingers and rub it into the shaft....not a lot..just a little.

Then take a piece of leather and burnish it...then take a dry cloth and wipe it down.

The baby oil simulates the oils from your hand that will build up on the shaft over time...and it takes away the overly slick feeling of a brand new shaft.

"But then your opponent and everyone around you will ask you if you just changed a diaper or something."

:D

-Sean <-- when he smells baby oil, he holds nose and goes "pee yew".

That's when you say, "My last opponent needed it after the whooping I gave him. You're not gonna need help with your diaper too, are you?"
