Today, Sunday afternoon, I got a call from an unknown number.

I don't answer numbers that I don't recognize, especially on Sunday.

Well, it was Laurie Franklin.
After almost a 10 year wait, I finally got the call that it is time to pick my woods and veneers.

I am so psyched, even though it is still 6 - 9 months out.

Just had to share.

Ebony and tulipwood and tell them to put a leather wrap on it.

You got that right. Ebony nose, tulipwood points, except....here is where we differ....wrapless.

In fact, make that a nine pointer.

Now you got a cue you don't see everyday.

Good luck.

I am going to ask for something special, 9 or 12 points, if they still do them.

I was thinking of Purpleheart with Snakewood.
Maybe with Titlist colored veneers.

What do you guys think about that?

God bless you for your patience in waiting 10 years for a cue. Lucky for you that your phone number did not change.

I don't like to mix too many kinds of woods. Especially if they each have a personality (strong color or strong figure) of their own. It get's confusing to the eye and neither wood is given it's proper due.

Snake wood is soooooooooooo beautiful, especially if it is a good piece. Stick with Snakewood and Maple .... to show off the Snakewood.

IMHO.

10 years! What it must be like to have a business where people are willing to wait that long to get a product.

Never seen a SW with snakewood points... Props to you if they build it. OR a 12 pointer.

You've been waiting for 10 years for a cue and you still don't know what veneers or wood to go with??? Just kidding man...I hit with a Southwest once and I should have bought it. Best hitting cue ever.

That's a decent buck, worthy of mounting, but the horns would be asymmetrical (5 points on one, 4 points on the other).

Oh wait, that season is over... Nevermind.

:D

j/k,
