About 10pm tonight two Beautiful Richmond PD officers knocked on my door and informed me that they had found my jeep. Needless to say i could have hugged them. I was in an appartment complex about 2 miles around the corner. I almost went to look in that apartment complex yesterday. They said it was in good shape the small window in the back passenger door was busted out and my ignition switch was tore up but over all it is okay... I was so happy..cause i was getting more pissed with each passing day. they also informed me that it was the 6th jeep stollen in 6 days in the area.

Man I'm glad you found it....cause I was bluffing about donating to the new Jeep fund....just kidding...LOL!!!:D :D :D

Seems like cops are just getting better at finding stolen cars. Yay technology!

I had my Rodeo stolen about a year and a half ago, around midnight. Cops a couple of suburb-towns over called in the morning to say they'd found it in a hotel parking lot.

Little-known fact about digital car door locks: insurers will not honor a claim that a car equipped with them was stolen. The official line is that the digital locks are thief-proof, so the owner must be pulling a fast one.

The truth is, any practicing car thief can open a digital lock in about 20 seconds.

My spouse is interning at the police academy for one of her college classes and was told by one of the instructors that any thief can short out alarms and digital locks with batterys or chargers. They claim the club is the best device, as thieves do not want to take that much time in stealing a vehicle. The only good reason to have an alarm system is most insurance agencies give a discount on your premium if you have one.

another good device rarely know is a kill switch. You can install anywhere in your car and when you take out the kill switch you can't start up the care cause there's no connection to the battery. You need to put the kill switch back in to start up.

One night I was drunk as shit...and someone stole my brand new 2002 Nissan Xterra....supercharged I might add...and then they also stole all my big black Glad Hefty bags.
Later the next afternoon, I remember throwing out my exwife, stuffing all her pocessions into trash bags, saying take the damn SUV and....well I'll skip the rest so the mods & I don't talk again.!!!:D
Life is choices...that was a wonderful one!!!;)

Only down side was they &*%ucked up my transmission ..no reverse..looks like there were driving and decided to throw it in reverse for fun..thats just cold...

Glad to see you got your ride back. Its a strange feeling when you get somethng so personal stolen, then returned. Kind of like knowing your girlfriend kissed another guy....it's never the same!

I had my new Iroc-z stolen early in the AM after an all nighter. It was weird walking out and looking around scratching my head. Then I had the realization that my new Snake skin George case, and my Josswest were in the trunk!  When the cops called from Camden<(armpit near Philly) the first thing I asked was if my pool case was in the car?....they laughed at me. They also lied and said there were only minor scratches, when I got there it looked like Godzilla picked it up sook it and took a dump on the hood. I paid the extortion to get it out, went one block down the road and parked it under a bridge with the keys in the ignition and windows open! No one would steal the friggin thing!....the cops called a week later and I had it towed to a friends body shop. I wanted NOTHING to do with that car.....it felt "dirty"......frigging thieves make me sick!

I am glad you got it back!

I have a large piece of property and recently found a Honda car parked on one of my roads. I called the Sheriff to inspect it and remove it. After they looked at it they told me it had been dumped there. The car had the engine, transmission, all electronics, and the wheels removed then replaced with junk wheels. It had been stolen 3 days before from about 10 miles away. :(

Clifford alarms like in my Jeep cannot be shorted because it is a bunch of small wireless units hidden where only the installer knows where. When a door is opened, motion detected, any power source used you have 30 seconds to enter a code under the steering column before it notifies the Police. When you are in the vehicle driving and any time a door is opened you have to re-enter the code in 30 seconds again (anti-carjacking device) before the alarm locks all the windows, doors, shuts down power and calls 911 with the GPS location of my Jeep.

Some alarms are good but expensive :)

(Edit: Before I get flak - I'm not one of those you hear going down the road, this sits in a garage except when taken to audio shows...I drive something else daily :))
