I didn't think you were...but then again...neither am I. Let's just play 9-ball until we get the hang of it and you give me the 7 and out. :D

you get the 7 out, i get the 3 and the breaks...........sounds like a fair game to me. :D

check out the chart on t411's link:

11-4: 73.3% / 26.7%
10-3: 76.9% / 23.1%

your long race game loses you 3.6%!!!

That's right...you're 30 years younger...30 years dumber...and 40 years less experience playing the game and gambling. (I started this game 10 years earlier in life than you did)

I also NEVER took a blue pill...I need cold showers to keep it down! (and I can still beat Big Jon in a 100M dash...and many more guys)

Red pill

Was it the blue pill or the red pill that led down the rabbit hole?

U can add few more names to the list: Shanon Daulton,Jeremy Jones who won USOpen in One pocket, Gabe Owens, Leil Gay who won US Open one pocket and can play good 9 Ball in big boys league.Cliff Joyner still has excelent stroke for 9 Ball.

You might want to add Buddy Hall and Jose Parica also.

Thank you. Then it stops becoming a nip and tuck, and seems (in your own mind) as important as pocketing a ball. Positioning the object ball and cue ball in the ideal place becomes an art form in itself and achieving success with your intended shot is equally as fulfilling as firing balls in the hole. The first time I got into a "moving" game and was extremely successful I got HOOKED on the game. After a guy (who plays one pocket ALL of the time but I'm a better offensive shooter than him) asked me to play last week some cheap one pocket I said ok. He wanted to play $5 a game so I did and beat him 4 consecutive games (just moving great..no mistakes and pocketing every bank and shot I went for). He told me I was playing too hard for $5 and jacked it up to $10. I then beat him two in a row and he quit saying, "I can't beat you." This was my first real "Success" at one pocket. I mean, I would give the guy the 7 at 9 ball comfortably...but at One Pocket I thought I would be donating him some free table time money. I started learning little things as I was going about protecting your lead, protecting the balls near your hole...and it was a blast. I guess I'll quit rambling now.

No, No, please tell me more Matt!!!! LOL :D :D :D :p :p :p

I love one hole but I think Sharkeyes is right. I've seen good
9 ballers go downhill as they master one hole.

Alright Hondo, when we gonna play some 1 hole? Matt don't want to play with me no more. My other friend hates going home down 10-4. I need some fresh meat. LOL

Donald, the best player in Clarksburg, John Brill, is from
Winchester. I told him about you and he said all you
Virginia boys shoot straighter than Wild Bill Hickock.
Still, I look forward to the opportunity to play you.

He ain't talking about me Hondo. I can't put 3 balls in a hole in a row with my hands!
I couldn't break an egg either! I heard that one from Earl The Pearl at the open last year. He was talking to Keith.
When you gonna head this way?
jaz and his wife were here two weeks ago and jhendri2 will be here tomorrow.
He is flying in from Oklahoma. I also hooked up with McDogit a couple of weeks ago. The forum is a great way to meet and greet.

As far as loving to play one pocket as opposed to 9 ball, here's an interesting, never mentioned aspect of one pocket that I think is a big part of it's appeal ( I know for sure it's a big part of it for me ) > I think one pocket appeals to independent thinkers and people that don't like being told what to do ( which I think is probably most all of us pool players ).......What I mean by that is that in 9 ball you never, ever, have any choice in which ball you shoot at - the lowest number ball that's on the table is what you HAVE to shoot at - you don't get any choice in the matter - for me, for that reason, 9 ball has always seemed way too restrictive, and same-old, same-old, rack after rack......But in the best pool game in the universe, one pocket ( and straight pool and banks also ) you can do anything you want, shoot at any ball that you want, don't even hit a rail if you don't want to, exercising that good old American freedom of choice............And so then, I guess we could say, since there's no freedom of choice in 9 ball, 9 ball is the communist pool game ! ^_^
