So I just finished watching the DVD. It took 3 days to get here and I was pretty pumped to watch it. It's not that I like straight pool, but I like to watch John miss, which I was sure to see in this DVD! You can follow this guy all around the country and may never get to see him miss a ball, so this was quite a treat.
The commentary was great, and just what I was expecting. John and Bill only talk about patterns in the beginning and ends of each rack, which is exactly the type of instruction most of us need, IMHO. I had to back up a couple of times and watch some parts over again so I could take notes. I learned quite a few little tricks that I wasn't expecting.
At one point John complimented Bill on his ability to take constructive criticism and how much it has helped improve his runs. I think that is something that we could all work on a little bit. We all have something to learn.
It was nice to see John criticize his own play. At one point he shot something so bad that he had to ask if he was on crack
.
I took a couple other great pieces of advice from this DVD, but won't spoil it for those of you who haven't got your copy yet. I am going down to the basement to practice now, there are a couple of new end game patterns I am going to work on!
PS - Nice shorts John, they go well with your red glove:rotflmao1:
