I was in Tunica and watched him dismantle Earl Strickland. He did it at the table and he did it mentally in the chair. The kid faded EVERYTHING that Earl chirped. (I'm a HUGE Earl fan, btw, but we all know how he can be). Lando was a complete robot on and off the table. It's as if he were soulless.......in a good way.
I'm going to paraphrase slightly, I believe, but at one point, Earl turned to the crowd behind him and said, "This kid.....this kid right here has NO mercy."
I saw Landon later and talked to him for maybe 1 minute and had him sign my case. He was absolutely respectful, humble and just.....nice. Possibly a bit shy.
I also talked to Stan for maybe 2-3 minutes and commented to him as to my experience with Landon and that he should be proud that he has raised not only a talented kid, but an actual good, respectful one. I could tell that it made him proud.
I teased Stan that he has probably had Landon locked in the pool room at their home non-stop, only to be allowed out for tournament play.
He is, indeed, a machine. If the nicknames "The Terminator" and "RoboCop" hadn't already been taken, it would probably suit him very well.
In fact, maybe "The Machine" would be very fitting for him.
