New here looking for some opinions.

Im currently shooting with an OB plus pro, and I feel like the smaller shaft is hurting my game. (I realize it might all be in my head/my stroke lol.) However, I feel more confident with a larger shaft so that is where I am looking. I own a 314 2/3, Ob plus Pro, SS 360/2, Meucci Pro shaft. I really want a stiff hit. Something with really good feedback, but it has to be LD. I learned to play pool on a predator, so going to a solid maple kills me.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

Any cue repair guy can make a non laminated LD maple shaft .

They don't hit like a solid maple shaft .

I have tried predator shafts, mezz, and etc. I have always liked thelong pro taper and feel of my Jacoby Edge Hybrid. My Pechauer pro+ hits just just like it also... acording to my tests.. and I can tell you that the pechauer seems to have "light colored wood", (even IF it may be bleached? )but for some reason it did not appear to be sealed when I got mine.... so I had the prep it and use hard carnauba.

I bought it new through nsafellow, a great guy on here and extremely knowledgeable, and it was bought under his own specs with pechauer, so I am not sure that they all come out semi-finished?

why niot go with ob classic +
if not the mexx w700 might be for you

I dont think I have even seen a pechauer in the wild where I live. How does it feel compared to the mezz as far as stiffness? Ive tried the Edge Hybrid for a couple of balls. I didnt really have a chance to give it a good test run though.

Ive hit with a WD700 a loooong time ago. I do remember liking the feel of it. How does the WX700 compare to the OB classic as far as hit and deflection?

Is there a big difference between the WD and the WX?

The difference between 13mm and 12.XXmm is not that noticeable. Maybe its the tip that you use. If you play with a soft, you might want to go to a medium, or vice versa. There's nothing wrong with solid shaft if you can find a good one. I say find the shaft you find most comfortable of the LD shafts you're using and change the tip.

Adapt to playing with it instead of buying something you have no idea will be good for you.

Katana makes some nice shafts. Stiff is relative based on what you're used to, tip, and the cue weight you prefer, but with the right tip katana shafts really put consistent action on the ball and I think play smooth, encouraging you to stroke through the ball.

The Lucasi hybrid shafts are also nice and are LD without hollow space. Jacoby edge looks interesting, haven't hit one though.

Still. If you're hunting LD, smaller shafts are the way to go. It requires a lot of work on your stroke but it pays off... Don't give up on your OB just yet, it just takes a very consistent and linear delivery of the cue for a skinny shaft to hit with the energy transfer and crispness you expect, and having to chase that down can help your development if you have a mind to work at it.
