Hello all, right now I am looking at buying a custom cue to play with. I perfer spliced points, 5/16-14 pin, and some inlay work. I also perfer a more traditional look. I have $1,000 to spend. I am leaning towards a Richard Black, Tim Scruggs, Phillippi, or McDanials, but I might consider others. I will be buying a predator shaft for the cue to play with. Anybody out there have anything interesting? :D

Thanks Todd.

Todd,
Skip Weston's base 4 pointer can be had for 900.00 new from him. It will give you that classic look. But since you are puting a predator shaft on the cue, the cue's playability shouldn't be as big a concern. After saying that, you can get almost any butt to go with a p shaft. The least expensive Skip we have is 1500.00 but it has inlays and rings. But it is traditional. Of course there is always a Balabushka, which will be about 8,000.00 on the low end side. :)

Since your $1000 is about $1300 Canadian you could get a darn nice cue from
http://www.mikkelsencues.com/Cues.htm

Of course if you got a Mikkelsen you would probably want to use the original shaft, those cues hit like a dream. They would fit a Predator NP if you were sure you wanted one though. Plus they are VERY collectable and a good value atm.

The cues with rings up the forearm seperating the forearm into 3 seperate units are a signature kind of design of his. Take a look at the 32 pointer with 8 points on each level on the forearm and 8 points on the butt to get into his more fancy work. He has done even more intricate stuff since. I only wish I had a picture of my cue to show, it even caught Mike Sigel's eye.

I have a very nice Paul Fanelli custom cue that I may be interested in selling. The cue has a purple heart forarm with blood wood points, maple veners, ebony/blood wood ring work and a black leather wrap.

Not exactly the joint you are looking for, but thought you may interested anyway. The joint pin is 3/8 10.

Erik is a great guy to deal with. I purchased an Instroke case from him a while back via ebay and got a smokin' deal on a great case. Excellent communication.

I'll second that and I ended up not buying anything. Level headed and honest.

I have to jump on this bandwagon, too. I bought a brand new Viking from Erik a year and a half ago and the price was better than anywhere else. He's let me hit with some of his other cues since then, though I haven't pulled the trigger yet. A pleasure to deal with.
