The Samsara leather jump/break tip is what I have on my break cue, and it has worked very well for me. I have not tried it as jump tip yet though

White diamonds work great and seem to be quite popular among players here, however I believe they fall under the BCAPL phenolic tip ban, so be aware of that. Otherwise, they're fantastic.

Rocket,

The White Diamond is still up in the air about being legal. I don't know what it is made from, but the only safe way is to use leather.

I use the Samsara on my break cues, and it works fantastic! Our break cue is not a jump cue, so it doesn't jump as well as others, but it wasn't intended to. It was meant to be a break cue!

Others who have used the Samsara on their break jumps have also liked it very well. The Samsara is leather, so you can control the cue ball too.

I use a Samsara made X Breaker (2), and am currently using a Pred Air for hopping. I've been rather unimpressed with the White Diamond in either case. I have 3 shafts for the XB's & I've yet to find anything better for breaking than the original - G10? - tips (still have them on 2 shafts). I'm going to remove the WD's & try Samsara's jb tips. Phenolic jumps easily, but I'd prefer more control than it offers - and for a break tip I think it's entirely too unforgiving.

I put on SuperPro,WaterBuffalo,Phenolic tips on break cues, which one depends on what kind of ferrule material the cue has on it!!
An Ivorine4 ferrule and waterbuffalo or SuperPro tip is a hard combo to beat!!
If its got a PVC ferrule like most of the cheaper J/B's they just about have to have a phenolic tip!!!

Depending on your local rules, if they allow it, the best set up is a phenolic ferrule. They are great for breaking and jump better than any tip.
The G-10 glass Epoxy ferrules break good and jump better than anything else.

If you like a stronger break, remember that when the cue jumps you are losing energy that could have gone into the rack.

The cue ball jumps because it is in the air when it hits the rack, propelling it upward. When the cue ball hits the rack square and on the table, all of it's energy goes into the rack.

The Samsara jump / break tips are the nuts - leather tip for cue ball control and legality and hard like phenolic.

Best of all worlds.
