Check out a Jacoby. Made in the USA, good hitting and not too stiff (in my opinion).

The last I knew Roger Long was building a very moderately priced cue that looked decent and was reported to hit great. No real information on them but he is one of the cuebuilders on the short list of cues I'd like to try. I have to admit that I'm more interested in how they play than how they look and I tend to cut my own.
Manwon's cues, Ratcues, a handful from makers on here to choose from while supporting our fellow posters. I'm missing some others that I wouldn't hesitate to support but I'm pretty whipped after a long day, can't think at the moment. When you are inclined a look on the cue builders forums right here on AZB can give you a good idea who you want to deal with. Do a general search on their name if you think you want a cue from them, some are better businessmen than others.
When you are looking for a little cue builder look no further than CueBuddy. He was showing off a beautiful cue he built last time he was down here. I would have had to score it if I didn't already have one of his cues but at only about ten inches long it is a little short for my wingspan!
