over an interferring OB gambling cheap playing 1P. He then ran the rest he needed to win (giving 11-4 I think). He jumped his ball over a little less than 1/4 of a ball in the path to his pocket and held the CB for shape. CB and OB(#1) were about six inches apart pointed directly at his pocket. OB(#2) was about 6 inches away from OB(#1) and slightly blocking the path to the corner pocket, and OB(#2) was about a 1 1/2 feet from the pocket. They finished that game and were done. Asked about it later-Ike said it was laying pretty good and was pretty makeable.

I don't think he hit it with inside or outside or helping english or CTE or SAM or BHE or BIH or swerve or throw or deflected it or double-kissed it or nipped it or pinched it or force-followed it or Hal Haoule'd it or power-drew it or fractionally-aimed it or masse'd it or slid it or......... I just know that the OB Bounced over another OB and went in his pocket-then he ran out and got paid. Bob Jewett or Dr J or Dr Dave may know how he did it-I just know he made it. Ike didn't elaborate.

What poolism did I leave out?

Semi-sorry for the rant. Still say-cool shot and situationally appropriate. Didn't Buddy Hall advocate the occaisional 'strategic blast"?

EDIT: I don't really know where the other balls were laying. I remember he had other open shots - he was showing off in a friendly cheap game.

The shot really isnt as hard as it looks. With a little practice you may be surprised.

You basically make the cueball land on the first OB, which in turn makes it jump over the second OB.
 
Ike is pretty much THE MAN. I figure if HE shot it... it was probably the right shot. However... knowing it , shooting it, and of course MAKING it don't alway get along
 
I made a similar shot years ago (when I played every day) playing 8B. I played bad shape on the 8 & had to jump a small portion of my opponents stripe. I played it with a Schon with stock shaft. I won't even attempt it now with a LD shaft...can't get the CB to hop like it has to.
