I Think I've Been Scammed!!!

I bought a Predator BK cue from someone called Scruny3 on Ebay at the beginning of the month (May 4th to be exact). I sent him several requests for a tracking number as I live in the UK. He replied once saying he was working out of town and when he gets back, he will email it to me.

That was 10 days ago now and having looked at his feedback last night he has pulled the same trick on someone else. He had 100% feedback when i bought the cue.

This is the first problem that i've had with buying from Ebay.

What can I do to get my money back or have i lost out?

If you paid through paypal contact them and they will freeze his account and do an investigation

File a claim with ebay under Item not received/ item not as described. If they find in your favor, ebay will deposit into your paypal account all but $20 , up to , I think $200 maximum. You don't get it all back but its better than nothing, and its a drawn out process, but it works.

It also the fact that he's pulled the same scam on someone else!

I've just filed a claim thru Ebay and Paypal- I will take up to 30 days to get money back.

I thought i was getting a good deal on a Predator BK for $159.

Jason,

Sorry to hear of this. Here lately it seems many of the 'good deals' on ebay end up being not such good deals after all. For a purchase like this (production type stuff), save yourself some hassle and make the purchase through a reputable online dealer. Chances are you will still get some kind of a discount off retail and noyt have the sales taxes.

But I feel your pain....also was scammed on an ebay deal lately.

Cheers Sean. I have to ask what the sign reads on you avator? I saw on TV but couldn't make it out- All i know it was some jibe at Bonds.

Sorry to hear that dude. Nightmare of nightmares. Sometimes its too good to be true.

Don't stray too far from the diamond and all will be well. He will always look after you.

i feel for u mate..there're rarely truely gd deals on ebay nowadays as gd deals r usually tied to scams..be more careful the nx time rd..at least u know now that 100% feedback isn't anything :)

ya know what.. there isnt much for good deals on ebay nowadays...

if somebody is selling something especially something they know the value of, they are either going to put a high reserve, or they are going to shill bid or even end the auction early.. so that way there is no chance of the seller loosing out.. back when i first started ebaying back in 99.. it was harder for sellers to endthe auctions.. and there wasnt anybody doing fake auctions like there is now.. it really stinks now..

Scam

When things like this happen I wished people would expose their name, phone, and address.

bad luck

these kind of things seem happen more fequently recently, my friend got scammed for $810 on Ebay as well, but not for cue (something else), he reported to Ebay, and it seems they have a loss recovery, and cover up to $1000, however my friend did not get his full amount back, something like 80% of the full amount, try report it.

But honestly, if you can be patient, wait a bit more.

I had this kind of exp before, a guy did not contact me for 2 whole weeks, i was pissed as well, but did not leave neg feedback at the time, instead just fulling writing mails to chase up, he replied after 2 weeks, and told me something happened to his family (something really bad, i would not go into details), then he sent me the thing and also something extra for compensation. So...either way, hope you will not lose your money.

Good luck, mate

ebay is fine, it has the checks and balances to make sure a buyer or seller is protected, if they follow the rules! Simply as that!! A bunch of you guys seem to like to bash stuff. Instead of looking at the good things about ebay, and other pool related issues. The glass is half full~not half empty. Come on we have it real good in this world, look past the B.S., and see the positive, and make it better!
