Today was the Tom Ross benefit and cue show at Greenfield's in the Denver area. Not sure how much money was raised, but I think it was well attended and a success. There were a few Az'rs there that I know including Cuesblues, but I met 'Measureman' for the 1st time...and I got to see, and touch, his famed Lucasi. I feel blessed.

Tom was there participating in the spot shot contest and the break contest. It is still hard for him to communicate but he has improved so much since last I saw him it was great. Next fund raiser for Tom is July 9th at Wynkoop that Melissa Little is hosting. Hope to see a nice turnout for that one, too.

Thanks to all that attended.

I had a good time there today. Got to see a bunch of players that I know and have played against in tournaments such as Ron Lincoln-Bill Skinner-Jackie Carrol. Also got to meet DR. Dave and 12squared who got the rare pleasure of not only seeing but touching the famed Lucasi cue. He will be having great karma for a while now.
Cuesblues was there with 30 cues from his collection, one in particular that I fell in love with. Doug was also there but was very "Vague" about everything.
All in all it was a good time and money was raised to help one of our own.

In the spot shot competition I think Bill was at 120 before they shut it down.
I quit paying attention at 65.

As far as selling any cues there it turned out as expected.
Good to see Tom, he looked like he was doing well considering what he's been through.

As usual it was load of fun

Nice seeing you again, Ted. You have some beautiful cues as always .

Yeah, Bill Skinners unfinished run of 120 spot shots was pretty amazing, even if it was on a bar table.

And the power of the Lucasi was not enough to help the Nuggets beat the Thunder in the 1st game of the playoffs. Sorry.

Last point, as I worked my way back to Fort Collins I stopped by Match Ups and saw another AZ'r, TokyoDave, playing in the Sunday handicapped tourney that I normally play in. I asked him why he made the trip and he told me that this is the only big table tournament around anymore. Nice to see him, but kind of sad if that's the case. You are all invited to Match Up's on Sunday: $10 9-ball, handicapped, $100 added, begins at 3PM.

I hit balls with it!

The Lucasi felt magical, the other one, not so much.

Great seeing all the people out to support Tom, see you all again at the Wynkoop.

A very talented pool player liked the mighty Lucasi over the Pechauer.
It made my day.

I might add that I was pretty suprised at the level of play up there. Not that I've ever underestimated the players up there. More or less because they apparently don't come down here to play that often, there were several unfamiliar faces that play really well up there.

Glad to learn the event was a success. Domestic chores prevented me from attending, but I'm aiming for Melissa's event for sure. Good luck, Tom.

I challenge the Lucasi's Karma with Just a shaft !

Sounds like you guys had a blast,Good to hear about Tom!! Its always nice to meet AZer's face to face and talk!! I finally got something I never thought attainable for me. I got a Gus Szamboti shaft- And let me tell you they are something to behold!!! I put it on a Mottey/szam look alike!! form Gus's early cues. know body makes Shafts like this anymore-the ivory ferrule just glistens. The cue wood is truly special. It hits the ball so straight it will give the 7 Out to any LD shaft. I'm ready to just collect Szamboti stuff- what else is there? Good luck to all at the Next one, with Mellisa ,she's great too!! Get better soon Tom, glad you had a good night out with the boys!!!!!

The Lucasi will bow its tip in the karma department to the Gus shaft.
But I bet the Lucasi win if you just play with the Gus shaft.
The shaft always needs a good butt to perform well.:rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1::rotflmao1:
