Pool players love knockers the same way a horse loves to get its leg busted while coming down the final stretch. Back in the day, many of our old men pulled us aside and said: "Son, always remember....never f*ck with another man's lively hood;" however, the knocker left that advice in his other pants.
Knockers are pool hall secret agents who make it their job to "inform" a player (many times who aren't their friend anyways) that they're about to get into bad action. Knockers are also known to fire-off preemptive strikes as the player is walking across the parking lot--- completely ruining his night before he ever walks into the door. The player soon leaves the establishment, confused and pissed-off... because he swore that poolroom was polluted with action the last time he was there.
The worst knocker is the knocker who wants a piece of your action in exchange for silence. Knockers usually want to keep the local money for themselves; however, if they were a gambler to begin with.... why won't they make a game with the player? It's perfectly fine for the knocker to outright steal from random people....but they won't let you.
"Knocking someone's action" is typically the LAST thing you want to do in a pool hall unless it's YOUR pool hall and you're surrounded by a sea of non-pu*sy friends.

Now that was funny.
I like knockers..... Oh you meant pool. Well, like I said, I don't gamble much any more, and I don't try to hide who I am. Last time I played some road guys passing thru, I did stall a little trying to find out how they played. But I was upfront with them, telling them I won't play even with a few of Idiana's more well known players.
So don't worry about knocking any action for me.

Just kidding. If you're somewhere close and wanted to just hit some balls sometime, I'd play some. I don't have to gamble. I can play short races and just enjoy playing. I may get a little lazy just playing like that, but I will try to win every set. As for being able to come back and beat me in 2 years, good for you. You have to set goals, and be determined to reach them.
