I was just thinking of Alex at TAR

You again?
PROVE IT....."thats all you gotta do and I am on my way back to Oakland"
PROVE IT.
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....:D
(I was born and raised in Detroit, Ohio too...that doesn't mean I believe what some pool player has to say about building cars)

here you go:

i think if these pictures are real...which i don't think anyone here will dispute..
..i think its safe to assume Alex wasn't making shit up...

Yeah, the Pinoys play in tough conditions. Just like sinuca in Brazil. I say, whoever wins, more power to him. I love Alex for his Alexness and Shane for his Shaneness, which are very different things. Best of luck to both of them. I'm just hoping we get a good match.

That video is awesome. I could lose myself in a place like that. This is the kind of video that makes me love pool again.

And the fact that they are playing rotation and not some sloppy crappy local version of 8 ball is even more awesome.

What a great video. Thanks to the TROLL for being a dick so that others step up and prove just exactly where players like Alex come from. This was Efren 40 years ago. It was Orcullo 20 years ago. It was just about every filipino kid at some point in their lives.

Shane has the advantage of a pool playing family who themselves were national champions.

Alex grew up playing in places like these until he got to Canada.

Both players put their time in on the road. Alex and Corey Duell were a famous team running the roads together before either of them were of legal age to drink. No one's cash was safe when those two showed up.

Shane is famous for stalking his opponents and steadily decreasing the weight he asked for until he was the one forced to give up weight wherever he goes.

This is a great battle between two champions from different corners of the globe.

"the point is these conditions exist.....alex probably wasn't lying.."

He definitely wasn't lying. I've been to Asia and some of these places look like upscale pool rooms compared to other joints.

I knew you Pinoys would come through for me....thanx for the pics.
..gotta know 400 Pinoys and 397 of them are geeks that I go for
computer info.
Probably the only one that knows less about a pc than me is Jose Parica...
..he probably thinks I'M a geek....

Hey Paul,

You know 400 pinoys? Now THAT is bullshit.. That should be 399 1/2..

The 1/2 is for Raph! :D

that pack, actually a 6.5 pack has to be the equivalent of a 10 pack at
9-ball on bigger pockets.
I wonder what the record pack is at 10-ball

Correction...it's not a 6.5 pack, all balls were on the table when Shane
started....it's a 7-pack.

ps...I'd still like to know what the record is at 10-ball...in a serious match...
..this 7-pack might be it

Didn't Mike Dechaine do something better than that this year? Versus Archer maybe? I forget the event.

And you actually BELIEVE that bullshit story?
What happens when it rains? How does the place close up?? Whats to keep someone from stealing this "table"???
What a crock. Sounds like Alex was just drunk again and babbling.
I say PROVE IT!

Sounds like you've never been in the Philippines and you don't know anything about Philippines when it comes to pool...Just to give you some idea, you can see pool tables there in every corner of the streets..when it rains table were just covered up and owners just collect all the balls when they are closing up...and lastly people there don't steal tables...

DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE BRAIN?......LET US SEE IT...PROVE IT!

If you think Alex's lying. Why don't you prove it. There's ample evidence that he's not.

Then again, no need to mind a troll who's just looking for attention because he ain't getting any elsewhere.

Some thoughts/observations:

Both Alex and Shane have missed a few shots that they ordinarily would not.

This table is tough but fair - just like what was hoped for, right?

Both guys seem to be taking every shot seriously, even short straight-ins are getting a lot of their attention.

It's very enjoyable seeing these two champions slugging it out at TAR's beautiful room.

A 7-pack in 10 ball on a tight table is freaking impressive!

I'm jealous of how Alex can crawl up on a rail, like a bug, for his stretch shots.

xdy77 is full of shit and also a pot-stirrer who adds no useful content.

Best,
Brian kc

xdy77= ignorant troll.:rolleyes:

So what if you lived in Olongapo for 10 years? That place is a world on its own (built by the americans for their military base) and does not look anything else like the rest of the Philippines.

Pinoy- born in the the Philippines and played in all types of pool tables (outdoor, indoor, in the swimming pool, by the beach, under a hut, basement, as a dining table, garage, etc.).

It wasn't so bad that xdy77 showed up...because we got to see some
great pictures from Teedotaj (thanx for that)

I tend to travel well, I would never be a 'Club Med' type who takes their
own culture with them.I like to get out and mix...that's the joy of traveling.

People that don't mix when they travel remind me of a British privileged
class story.
A Duchess was asked how she enjoyed her trip to the 'continent'. She
replied "It was all very nice, but there were so many foreigners there."

It's a great stream. Well worth $35 for 20+ hours of two champions and fearless gamblers battling for the big cheese. I'm pissed I fell asleep 15 min before the start of Shane's 7 pack. Thanks for the great match TAR. Johnnyt
I think you took my advice and took a nap early, Johnny.
Saw your name on AZ at 4 am...you be a trooper, sir.

Alex seemed to get some energy when he realized he was in the home
stretch.....then he missed a 6-ball down the rail at 67-61 leading....and
the wheels fell off.
Letting Shane break is ALWAYS a mistake...and Alex left two caroms on
the 10-ball. He also finished with missing a very makeable 9-ball.

However, a 70-67 Shane score is still a match where the outcome is in
question....
...anything could happen....and often does...

Dechaine ran an 8-and-out on Archer at the BCA in Vegas.
