i was just thinking that the responses i gave on how i feel about pool .
are there some of you that think i should not give those type of responses
because i know that i go to poker forums and when i bring up things like (is it possible to cheat on online poker ? they get upset and say that its not possible and that kind of question is frowned upon. lol my thinking is if it is i dont want to be so gullible as to think that its impossible when im not 1000% sure. why would they not want to know if they are being cheated. makes no sence to me that they just want to trust the system because the system says it wont happen. anyway just wanted to know if you guys agree or dissagree with my
straight forward answers. or should i just post the good things about pool and not the negative
 
You keep posting whatever you want- your opinions and thoughts are valued to lots.

But first you must answer the following- I thought I read that you are in AZ. You keep posting very early in the AM- what kind of pool player gets up @ 5am?!

Please *always* give your honest opinion. Others may disagree, but that is what makes forums such as this great!

I value your opinions as well as each other persons opinions. I read them all then make up my own mind as to what is what...

thanks guys im in albuquerque nm and my hours are all screwed up i play poker for now so i make my own hours :)

I think back in the Old Wild West Days that there were so many gunfighters because of the larger than life tales and their glorification. Many wanted to have the recognition and go down in infamy. Maybe if there was someone around discussing the consequences, like death, being crippled for life, jailed, broke and infirm, the life and fame might not have been so appealing. Then again, it might not have mattered either. All you can do is tell it like it is and maybe something might hit home for another human being. As you know, it ain't all as glorious as it seems, although it is exciting while you're doing it and while reflecting back on the good times.
 
Not sure if it is cheating persay but tag teaming on online poker is a snap. Get 2 or more people playing on the same table and talking on the phone about what they have in their hand and you can bump pots up and force max bets when ya got the nuts. Also I am not sure but are the decks random or are they real decks in that there can only be 4 aces, 4kings, ect... it seems if you have afew people on the same table you could know what alot of the cards out of the deck are and work out the odds on getting what you need to make your hand. I have always avoided online poker due to this fact, I simply cannot see how this is not possible to do these things. If you are playing on different IP's and chatting on the phone how would they know?

If your posts are the truth then they can't possibly do any harm, though others may feel differently. I posted some negative stuff about a tournament and everyone thought I was a jerk but, IMO, pool could use a few people who tell it like it is. The more that happens the more likely change will occur.

You don't even have to have a friend. I know people that have both DSL and Cable Internet, so of course their IP's are different. All they have to do is play on the desktop and a laptop and they're good to go.

The sites tell you that they're totally secure, but you can't really be 100% sure, so I stay away from the live money games, and will only play the SnG tourneys.

If I want to play live, then I'll get together with my buddies, or I'll hike up to Atlantic City.

Call it like you see it, Mark. With few exceptions, the members of this forum are respectful of everyone's right to post somethng controversial or debatable. Pondering the good and bad about pool's past and considering the possibilities for its present and future is something many of us on the forum enjoy. Having you on this forum is our good luck.
 
Mark your opinion is greatly valued on this board. I am pretty sure that the 1 or 2 people who argued with you are not aware that you are a legend to this game, one of the top 10 best players of all time. I would really like to have you stay on this website and post here. I used to often make topics about you, asking questions to other players who might have known you because I have heard so much about you. I think it's great that you are here on this board and you are giving honest and straightforward answers. Please stay!

Maybe it's just me, but it seems that so many message boards very quickly break up into little cliques where the biggest concern is promoting a certain school of thought. The weighlifting board has the Mike Mentzer followers and the disciples of Joe Wieder or Bill Phillips. The motorcycle board has the Harley lovers, crotch rocket lovers, etc. Everyone vehemently promotes their personal view of what is "best" or "acceptable" for everyone else. I began visiting this board because I enjoy playing, discussing, and learning about pool and billiards. I think Willie Mosconi was probably the greatest player ever. But, maybe it was Ralph Greenleaf, or Mike Sigel, or Efren Reyes, or some unknown player who never got the big break he/she needed. It's not really important to me. What is important to me is how I feel about pool and the free, open exchange of ideas and opinions in an educated and mature manner. For adults, it should be possible to disagree without being disagreeable. If someone expresses a point of view in this manner, I don't have a problem with anything they say. Engaging in healthy debate is maybe the best way to learn how much you actually know about a subject.

i dont agree with that keep your opinions to yourself unless they agree with mine.....:) lolol jk i agree except the part about mosconi being the best player ever. my vote is efren hands down. for sure best all around player.
