Well, anyone stupid enough to post their phone number on this board and...

IS stupid enough to not know how to contact Mike Sigel... whose phone number is all over the internet..

Really IS stupid enough to back someone against him.

But IS probably too stupid to have $10,000.

Cripes, "Floptit" - Should be FLOP NIT.

Chris

What does being stupid have anything to do with having money?
Theres plenty and I mean plenty of not so bright people that have
money and dont ever need to worry about it again.

I think I know the parties involved and like the Milton end of it. If there
I would make a side bet or two that way. Nothing is a guarantee

Posting a challenge proposition match like this on a public bulletin board is about as dumb as it gets. It's like the poster wants to brag that he's got 10K and he's going to stake someone to play a champ. Enough said - I said it all already.

Chris

I overheard Mike say at the DCC that anyone could come to Orlando and play for $50,000. Ten G's isn't interesting to him.

So all you have to do is take your player and your money to Orlando. Hustle up about five times what you wanted to play for and go challenge Mike.

I think Joseph Cues was making a joke alluding to the Straight pool match Mike had against John when Mike made a tournament comeback. Mike did get frustrated and break his cue. Its on accustats.
Hey Yobagua.....i was there at the us open 14.1 in nyc when sigel broke his cue. was the funniest thing i ever saw. sure was good advertisement for his cues..lol...................................................mike

Yeah Cueball. I was there too. A good friend of mine was the referee that day. I thought it was great drama and made my trip to NY city all the worth while. I just thought it was a sign of a great competitor and how he dealt with frustration. I didnt think it was poor sportsmanship or anything against Schmidt. Do you remember when Schmidt had Dallas West by his cojones but couldnt make his out ball. Schmidt literally dogged it. Dallas got out out and Schmidt just ran from the room. Or when Dallas was way behind Efren and put him in the stack. When Efren took a scratch and tipped the cue ball with his ferrel as he usually does in one pocket. Dallas called a Major infraction and they had to look it up in the rule book. When the dust was settled they deducted 15 points from Efren and made him break again from a rerack. Efren got mad and his face was turning red. But Efren the consumate pro held it in and when he had an opportunity he ran out.
Different people people deal with negativity and pressure. I wish a more friendly and saner approach is taken particularly on this board.

Mike Sigel told my friend to come to Florida and he would play him one pocket.
I do not know how to get ahold of Mike to set up the game but i would like to stake my friend . If any one knows how to get ahold of Mike or stake him to play a 6 ahead set for 10,000 at Hidden Pockets in Milton Fla. please post on here or you can reach us at 850-626-5880 ...........

Well I think if anything you just blew the game out of the water .How can you come on a board and challenge Mike to a game like that ? You gotta get a little bit of class to challenge Mike to a game and if hes gonna have a ton of people watching it -he,d make more off of TV than what you propose.Im not trying to be a ax grinder but you Kinda gotta think on it a little man . I think it would have been more respectible for your friend to go though the regualr channels than to blast it out on a board. You might as well cancell that game I would think . Why so loud? I think if your Boy has a good enough game for mike the best thing you can do is get him a backer that can get him a game without blasting it over the net for EVERYONE to notice . Think hard about it man .How many cans of worms do you open up like that?If you get your boy games do you also plan on paying the taxes for it after you have the whole world as witness of the income?Too many cans opened Im sure here .You need to get some experience and respect the players buddy before you try to challenge that level of a player.Personally I dont think your boy could handle him as he chose a backer that would tell the world whats going on.Not saying your a jerk just you need to watch and learn before you get into the "touch of class" system . Hey we all learn thats part of life .How many idiots do you have also calling you because you have posted your phone number on a post like this?Good luck in your future endevors man but you will not get a player at his level to answer to your challenge as Im sure he would feel over it and abouve it.How many loudmouth joes do you think with a couple bucks in thier pockets wanna challenge that level of player?
Im sure if he saw your post thats what he would think.Good luck man and I hope you take this as a learning experience as a true stake horse also has a skill and responsibility to his players and the image he/she projects for that player.

I agree a lot with your post Foxtrot. Mostly about respect for a player of Mike Sigel's stature. Why would a champ even pay attention to any gunslinger with a small sum of 10K when he himself is worth much much more than that. Its a lose-lose situation. So you win 10K. Is that going to change your life? Not when you have a million dollar business. But you stand to lose much more if you lose to some unknown. Boost it up to 50K and make that opponent Johnny Archer or a Buddy Hall. Charge seat prices and make tapes put it on the internet and get sponsors. Thats the way to go. Then everyone win-wins. Even you and I.
By the way wouldnt it be great someday to have a tournament like the poker guys do where anyone can pay their 10K and enter a matchup for the worlds best. With the payoff in the millions. The ring game seems to be the answer to this.

for those of you who can't comprehend my post let me explain. Mike offered to my friend to come to Florida and he would play him some one-pocket . They disscussed playing for in the neighborhood of 10,000. Someone said let some real players play Mike such as Archer or Buddy well it just so happens that neither of them are barred ,and whoever said that the big shot pros. don't need to win 10,000 are very much living in the dark. Archer and Buddy will both get a shot after the match with Mike.

It's you that can't comprehend what you did and why you are getting the responses you are. If you an use the internet then you can find Mike's contact information without asking us. But asking a pool newsgroup is fine, someone will know and give you the answer. You don't need to provide the details of WHY you need it though unless you wan't them discussed in the DISCUSSION forum.

It sounds as though you are simply barking anonymously. Who knows why you felt the need to inform us that you are ready to go after Sigel. Whatever your reason there is no need to announce it. Sigel probably assumed that you could find him since he is clearly not in hiding. Just pick up any pool magazine.

Mike, Buddy and Johnny are all easy to get a hold of. In fact, most of the top players can be found in a matter of hours no matter where they are. If your friend is SO good then he knows this already. I don't know where he found an ignorant stakehorse like you but he better ride your wave as long as he can. Some people just have more money than brains.

Good luck to you, come back and brag if you win - I bet you won't be here if you lose.

John

I'm sitting on the fence on this issue. I agree with those of you that said Floptit shouldn't have to inquire on this board as to how to get a hold of Mike, all he has to do is go to Google and type in Mike's name and click enter, it don't get much easier. However, that being said, I like the idea of being informed that a match like this is going to happen. I mean, that's one of the reasons I'm on this board to begin with, to hear about what's going on with my game! I'd also like to hear what the outcome is. I'm not the only one here wanting that information am I? Think about it.

how the hell are ya $Bill? havent talked to you in a while. been away from the game for a while and im finally getting back in. there's been some good action over here (suprisingly enough) in the last couple of days. alot of roadies been coming through the last 2 or 3 weeks. (strong arm john, Junior from atlanta, and some guy from ohio... just to name a few) i hope this thing does get off cause that would be some good action to watch. i dont know how they will be playing but i know there will be enough to cover the rails also. hey "floptit" keep us posted on whats going on and let us know if they are going to play.[/QUOTE

are you talking about the goofy kid that used to hang around ronnie j in jonesboro....he is pitiful and i promise if he wants it he can get some more of those 500 dollars sets on the bar box like he did that night at ronnie js place...gary would love to rob him some more.....juston

Isn't gambling illegal in Florida?

About this recent challenge of Sigel. To my understanding gambling in Florida is illegal. I may be wrong. It may be like here in California, where it is legal to wager between players, but is totally illegal to gamble on the match between the players.
My only thought is if this is an illegal function, this could be a disaster if let's say agents get on to this match, then they just might show up, take all the money and probably impose citations that may follow with fines; including the roomowner.
If I were in this situation I would not touch this challenge with a ten foot cuestick until I knew the law and that all would go well...

well i dont know if you are the same jr that used to have to beg to get staked by everyone.....the guy im talking about hung out at ronnie js place before it closed....kinda scruffy looking and wore glasses......and if you are him the you know who gary is and dont want anymore of that game.....the guy im talking about never had any money and always had to be staked......he is not it gary aboods league then, now,or ever....if you are the same person im speaking of then i hope you are doing better and hopefully your game has improved nicely......if you are the same guy ,why did you leave atlanta...or are you still there .....juston

this isnt junior... just someone that saw him play. and i dont think you are talking about the same guy cause the junior i know has never had a problem getting staked and he doesnt wear glasses.

well you know there is always the chance that there is more than one guy with the nickname jr......so were you serious about wanting to try gary....if so i can try to set it up and see if he has some free time......let me know at ne1wannabet@aol.com ....juston
