Great input Jason!

Hey Lock N Load,

In all seriousness, banking and kicking are two of the toughest things to do well and consistent in pool. I don't think you can ever master them exactly because the table conditions change to often. I would add working on your kick safes as well. All are important weapons and will serve you greatly in the future.

Hello Jason,
You are correct in your statement about what you should practice to improve your game. Thanks again for your input and response. Glad to have your comments!
Regards,
Lock N Load.

Maybe you should not drink anything at all and try that for a while! And be sure you let me know how you make out in the APA Regionals? From what you told me in your first response, is what I based my thoughts on about your game! I still think you can do it!! Thanks.
Regards,
Lock N Load.

Damnit, Linglebach knocked me out.. shoulda coulda woulda had him a couple more games if I hadn't fudged em up on my own. But shoulda coulda woulda doesn't win anything at the end of the day. Even though I wasn't shooting that great, was still playing smart enough to fight him off a couple of games so I was happy in knowing I could still hang in the strategy game.. sold out one safe on a two-way shot that I didn't give enough thought to.

The girlfriend qualified for Vegas, though, so I'll still be attending! Thinking about trying the minis, but I'd probably get steamrolled by the other 7s - there's only one way to find out.

This loss has only made me want to concentrate that much more on my shooting..

Well, most of 2010 has been a very bad year of pool for me. I finished school in january 2010 and couldn't find a job in my field so I was depending on my father to eat and pay the rent/bills (we are roommates, everything is under my name). I was playing only once a week and out of pity my dad would pay my entry fee for a few tournaments so I could get out of my boredom and slight depression but obviously without real practice I was just getting stomped 1-2 out.

Now for 2011 :D I found a job in my field and got a new custom cue in the end of 2010 and my game is only getting better. I started to win tournaments again in the AA and even performing really well against the AAA. I'm more consistent, I'm running out more and my break is a lot better but there is always room for improvement. I believe one learns more in defeat than in victory. There is something that I have gained over the last few months that money can't buy and its RESPECT from the other players in the circuit. They start to acknowledge me and remember my name and even root for me.

2011's season end in May and I plan on practicing a lot more and hopefully being able to move up to AAA in 2 or 3 years. I wanna improve my kick/safe and long straight in shots with the cue ball frozen on the rail.

I'll say your game is doing OK. Cashing 8 out of 11 is more than OK....

That Lock, always running with the fast crew.

I'm playing my best pool ever. I have worked very hard at it and one thing in particular has helped a lot. I won't go into what, because then this thread will get slammed with bs. But anyway, I'm beating players even that I couldn't in the past and I am very hapy about that. I don't do a ton of tournaments so I haven't seen the benefits in that but as far as matching up I am doing great.

Good thread!

I haven't posted in awhile but this thread strikes a cord with me because my game is crap this year. We moved in October of last year and had to give up our home table. I sure miss it. There are no discretionary funds to go out and play except for one league night per week. It's fun but there's not much value there for improving or even bringing back your game. I still get complimented and it's nice to hear but I'm a mere shadow of my former self.

I watch live pool streams a lot and they make my mouth water. We'll be looking at buying a new house soon and one must-have will be a room large enough for a table. I can hardly wait to get tuned up for tournament play again.

Thanks for asking. :)

Banks, did the guy really knock you out! Or you let your focus go?

Banks, I am still proud of you for all the effort you put into Your game. You held him off for while. That is great! Do not let this bother you or your thoughts on your game... Remember this is your game and yours only! You have to make the improvements on it. I am happy you did good and that you let me know how you did.... Please stay Focused when you are playing your game!! Very important to be focused at all times during your game playing. Walk around the table more often on every shot to see what is available for your next 3 shots! Check the cue ball out in position to the next ball you have to shot!

Whatever you do please do not play your girlfriend for money! He, he, he. When you get your game like you want it to be, and I want it to be, then you can call Lock N Load out! Just kidding I am trying to help you with your game... Thanks for your response and input and your improvements for 2011! You're on a Roll!!!!
Regards,
Lock N Load.

Hello Lady9,
And welcome to Lock N Load world! I am sorry to hear that your game for 2011, is not going the way you would like it to. But now on the other hand you are getting compliments on your game, there is something going on with that. And in a good way! Look up, stay focused, and most of all think of improving your game, shoot with people that are a little better than you are!

I trust that you will get the new house and that there will be a room for you a pool table! Let me know how you make out? I like your name and you are welcome for me asking about your game and goals for 2011! Hang, in there and keep your thoughts up very high!

Umm.. she'll play me for about an hour or so before calling it quits. Sometimes she'll move the balls around just to make it more difficult for me. :p I'm not sure if she's gotten a break'n'run before in 8 or 9. She's getting a bit better, though. She's banking better and playing a bit smarter in the end game lately.

Glad to hear that, Banks. She is doing good!

It sounds to me like you should adjust your game to her level of playing... Should is what I said, now remember that! Not that you have to adjust it.

I played a heavy hitter the other night. And when we started the sets he had to warm up. So, he got better as we played. Well check this out, I gave him the 8 and we ended up hill to hill each set, no matter what level of play he progressed to. Then we played a last set for the championship, I hate to have to inform you that he did not win a game in the last set! I realize that is terrible on my part. I had lots of fun playing him and practice too. He walked up to me and ask me if I was laying down on the first sets. I told him I had to make some adjustments for how good he was playing, and he smiled and said he had a fun time playing Lock N Load... Now he will play again. It is all about how you treat a player, as to weather they will play you again... That is why I like a set for all of the marbles in the end of the match!

Mr. Banks I am proud of you and your game, and goals for 2011. Keep up the great work and keep me informed about your game, and how it is improving! Thanks again.

Lock N Load.
