hello, the cue is now awhile on the market, so please tell me your opinions on this cue. and second, what did you think is the best breaktip on the market.

You are going to get many opinions on which is "the best tip" on the market for a break cue.
I used to have a phenolic tip on my J&J break/jump cue, but I recently took it to a cue maker to have the ferrule/tip machined down and replaced with a very hard leather tip. The BCA just recently banned all phenolic tips from competition play, so yo may run across this. I'm not sure if the icebreaker has a phenolic tip, but if it does you may want to check your local league to see if it can be used.

The icebreaker tip is Phenolic with a small piece of leather in the middle...It is illegal according to BCA rules...
I just had my Phenolic taken off and a Samsara leather tip put on and it is almost as hard as Phenolic..Breaks really hard...Let serval players try it last night at a tournament and everyone was impressed with how hard it broke the balls....I can also jump with it....The cue was the McDermott with the Stinger shaft and tip...I had the Stinger tip taken off and the Samsara tip put on the same cue....Works great for me..Very happy with that Samsara tip....

The IceBreaker can be ordered with an all leather tip if needed.
I think that for the money you can get a much better break cue.
It is very easy to jump with it and control the jump with it but when it comes for breaking I like the BK2 better. In fact I like my $80 Players jump/break (with phenolic ferrule and white diamond tip) better then the icebreaker when it comes for breaking.

Samsara makes a layered leather break/jump tip that is very close to phenolic in hardness, 100% legal in all sanctioning orginizations.
Samsara's break/jump cue is a work of art and performs as well or better than any other bj cue available.

Corey....Tell me more about the leather icebreaker tip for breaking...Is it one piece or layered??? How hard is it ?? Is it for sell now on Tiger's web site ??? A little more info please....
i think the best tip for breaking is the white diamond. i also think as its layered resin, it is also bca legal.
as far as leather goes, i would recomend super pro. very hard and the price is right.
i havent tried the ice breaker cue, so cannt comment. i havent found a breaker i like better than my $30 excalibur i got from sports authority that i set up with a tiger saber-t ferrule and white diamond tip.

Buy one and if it doesn't perform as expected send it back.

I had the Icebreaker and temporarily traded it to a friend for a BK2. I regret even doing the trade. The Icebreaker hits more solid than the BK2. Tried a white diamond tip on the Icebreaker and I prefer the Icebreaker tip better.

Well listen to this. Corey recently sent me an icebreaker and I ordered a Tiger XUltra Shaft with a radial pin. I can break and still jump with the standard X Ultra shaft on it, with a sniper tip. There is less effort in the jump with the Icebreakers phenolic tip, but I proved it was possible with the sniper tip today.
The Icebreaker is by far the best I have played with. As far as money goes... if you want a good cue you have to spend the money, it is worth every penny.
I am not saying this because they are a sponsor of my tour, I am saying this hands down; the best breaking cue I have played with yet.
Also it breaks down for short and long jumps, and still hits amazing! Nothing better on the market today.

i have had one at my house, i got one when they forst came out, it might have been from the first batch, I have had alot of top players come through and use it, more people like than dislike it, about 4 to 1. Personally I dont like it-so i'm the 1 out of 4, but my break sucks anyways. Its well built, mine has seen alot of use and shows no sign of wear. They did a good job on it.
I'll say this from an owners perspective, I'm not so believing of people sponsored or selling things.
I'm not a pro, but I have played quite a bit for about 20 years.
I bought the Icebreaker cue about 4 months ago. I wasn't too happy when it was about 2 ounces heavier than I asked for. Not Tiger's fault however.
I ask the dealer to send me a correct weight bolt to fix it, they dealer said take the weight bolt out and cut it. Geez, great dealer. I tried it about at almost 21 ounces and didn't really like it, but I started making the 8-Ball (that's the game around here) on the break once every couple nights. Which is a lot more than usual for me. I ended up cutting the weight bolt and made it a little bit more than 19 ounces and I liked it better.
I never liked the Icebreaker tip though. I think it is too inconsistent.
I normally can break and stop the cueball in the middle of the table at most of the time. But with the Icebreaker tip, so breaks were super powerful and some just average. I think having the phenolic part of the tip hit the cueball sometimes and sometimes not makes things inconsistent.
I took of the tip and put a Mezz pressed Ingot tip on it. It wasn't anymore powerful but it was consistent.
I wanted more, so I put a G10 tip on it. And now it really has some power.
Many guys around here said I break really good. I finally started showing them the tip on my cue, then they say "Oh". I wanted to see what happens when I took the whole weight bolt out of the cue, and now I will never put it back it. The cue weighs 16.7 ounces now and I can really smash the rack now. I've only done a few jumps so far, I haven't practiced jumping with it. The first time I used it with just the short handle I launched it from almost on the foot rail, to clear over and off the other end of the table.

I owned one for awhile and even though I kind of liked the tip, the overall cue itself was ok at best. I have a BKII and would use that any day over the Icebreaker. The only benefit I see is being able to break it down to two different jump cue sizes but who really needs that when you can buy a $50 jump break cue that is decent IMO.
It is called the Samsara break / jump tip.
The IceBreaker is one of the best if not the best production break cue on the market. Extremely well balanced and jumps balls with so much ease.
There is only one other production break cue that I like besides the Icebreaker, but I like the Tiger IceBreaker the best, hands down.
