ID a butt?

True, but the reason I bought it was because I have quite a few 5/16x18 piloted shafts. I'm actually not a fan of Joss cues, everyone I had hit were too stiff for my style. Because I don't have much in it,I will use it as a shooter. Thanks for the input.
Odd thing about it, why not just use the same pin as a Joss in the first place to make the copy more complete? It's not like the cost of one joint type is that much higher than another as long as we are not talking about ivory or something exotic like titanium pins.

I think the worst part of the cue is the butt sleeve, the rest looks pretty good. If I had it l would turn the butt sleeve down and sleeve over a piece of Ebony or another nice wood and duplicate like a Szamboti style butt cap out of delran.

I don't know what it would cost you, for me I could just do it myself. I think the end result you might end up with a pretty nice looking cue with a pretty decent value if it plays good.

I think as it is now I think it's unsellable because it just looks like a fake Joss. In fact no offense, I'd even be embarrassed to play with it in public.

I'm not sure what you mean about the butt sleeve unless you mean the lower part. Had a buddy look it over today, all wood is authentic. I just have issues with the 4 diamonds, poor quality and poorly done. As I've stated, I'm good with it as I have a shaft that's close enough for me. I'm will never try to pass it off as a Joss. It's going to be my cheap shooter. Thanks for your observations.

Hey ya mine is quite similar. Mine is still wax filled under the bumper. Everything on mine points to the Phillipines. I picked mine up at the end of a late 8 ball Turney took a gamble on a song and dance and lost! Cue hits ok but wouldn't feel right selling it to anyone with out letting letting them know it's a knock off.

It isn't a very good knock off. No one would think it is a Joss. The screw is wrong, the points are wrong and the wrong colors. The Joss also has notched diamonds. The cue is not even close.

That was why I suggested in my other post replacing the butt sleeve. Then you can use the cue without feeling silly. It will be worth more as well.

Mine is drilled but not threaded. I'm impressed with the points and hand splices, they seem to be quality done. The bottom diamond and chevron work is Cnc poorly done IMO but I have a good shaft I can use with it. I'm eager to try it out. No,I would never represent it as a Joss. I've been buying and selling cues since the '80's, you lose your reputation with people about cues and you will be shut down around here. Thanks for your input.

We both know it's not a Joss for sure. I do thank you for the suggestion on work it could use but it was bargain bought, I have a shaft for it. I'm just going to use it as an economical shooter, I have no desire to put money into it. Thanks for your input.

The Chinese are one of many countries who could not care less about copyrights , environment , pollution, rights. As long as we buy...they will sell.
Yet leftists have convinced each other that destroying our industrial base will reduce pollution … never once looking at what China has wrought, and believing none of their pollution will waft over here.

Guess mines closer than I thought got it out today.

They are similar. The quality of the wood, the points and the splice work are pretty good IMO. I have a pretty good shaft for it although the ringwork doesn't match. Can't have everything on a economy shooter I guess.
