I recently purchased this cue from a friend. I am trying to identify year and who made the blank, and possibly some value.

Sorry i am not here to contribute i am afraid.

But that's a nice cue!

Is yours one of those with the really thick butts? Its really nice for people with large hands.

It would appear to be a Viking W125, circa 1972....

Form Blue Book, 3rd Edition:

Maple forearm, four full spliced rosewood points with 4 colored veneers and a mother of pearl notched diamond inlay between two MoP dots in each, rosewood butt sleeve with 4 MoP notched diamonds alternating with 4 MoP dots above the "Viking Cue" under a clear plastic window set below black and white pearlized rings at the bottom.

Joe does it give any kind of value for this cue. Does it say who made the blank from this era. Thanks

Cost when new: $125
Cue in 70% condition: $490
Cue in 90% condition: $890

Take the Blue Book values with a grain of salt...

No comment as to who made the blank...it said full-splice, but I don't know who would have done it....certainly not Szamboti, Spain, etc...

hello i noticed that the pool cue you have aquired is the same one i have been looking for for 10 years now it was my dads and was lost in a storage unit ive been looking ever since and it was the same color scheme and everything as the one you have posted pics on if you still have it please let me buy it from you it would make a veteran very happy top own the stick again.

I always check back in hopes that you still own this cue. If you do I'm still have had no luck in finding it anywhere. I do believe this is the last one possibly. Anyways if read this message I'm still interested in purchasing the cue.

Yes at the time I posted this comment the cue had been lost already for 10 years. Now it will be around 20 years since I've laid eyes on the cue. I've never seen the w125 in that color scheme anywhere in the world to this day so I'm almost positive that that q was my dad's q. It was in a storage unit that got lost while I was in service. I've been trying to track it down now ever since that day.
