Identify this cue with "W" logo?

I have this cue and I can't find any information about it. It appears old.

I can't find this logo ANYWHERE in all my searching...
The cue appears to be pretty old. Here's the reasons I think that:
    • Yellowing of the wood.
    • Rubber bumper was pretty old, (splitting as I tried to remove it).
    • Shaft is "conical" shape like the old cues.
    • Inside under the bumper, looks very old (not including what appears to be a replaced weight bolt).
    • Non-CNC inlays.
    • 13.3mm tip
Here's the basic stats:
58" (I would have thought 57" if it was super old)
13.3mm tip
conical shaft that appears to be original
"W" logo on the butt
Sharp points (not completely even)
The weight bolt almost certainly appears to be replaced. It just seems much newer than the rest of the stick.

What do you guys think? Does ANYONE know anything about this cue stick? I don't have any further information but can attach additional photos or take additional measurements if you like.

Looks Asian at the butt cap and bumper. The veneers look a little like Karl Mayer, but not.

Is that a 14 pin? Unusual for an older Asian import but not unheard of.

Not a Weir.

Points an veneers are very nicely done. Are they even?

You say the bolt was replaced? Wrap does not look original to me either.

I don't know what it is.

Hi ChopDoc,

I was hoping you'd respond. The veneers do look very nicely done but not completely even. I'm attaching pictures of inside the butt. The weight bolt is obviously MUCH newer then the rest of the stick. Also pictures of the PIN. It's SS, not brass so not early 70's. I'm guessing early 80's?

I was HOPING that someone saw the logo before and problem would be solved! I only paid $30 for the stick and it looked old and high quality. I was hoping for some real value here if I could identify the maker.

I really don't know. I'm thinking Asian. Late 70s through 80s.

It's a cool cue for 30 bucks. I would have grabbed it at that price just for shits and giggles. I have a few like that. A couple turned out to be "something". Hard to say more.

Not Adam/Japan. More like Taiwan.

One would be surprised and what could turn up. In 2009 I walked into a Salvation Army store on a horrible neighborhood and in the corner was an almost brand new Brampton folding bicycle! These are hand made in England and fold into a 16 inch square- the rolls Royce of folding bikes IMO- was a $1500 bicycle at the time - I grabbed it for about $200- no one there had done any research - it had just arrived- could have been there for many reasons- death, divorce, stolen with cold feet, rich guys donation, a move, stuff happens and that is why people keep looking. I still have that bike with thousands of hours on it

I enjoy the "pool id" threads. Period. Gotta take the bad with the good. If one cares to look, it was my acquisition of a WHP and old leather case that finally tumbled me from the edge and into the cesspool. (So, how many idiots do I offset? LOL). Now, to my credit, I had researched first and came to inform as well as learn. But. so do some of the other folks.

The problem I have is the interloper with attitude, a spanking new member who seeks only one answer -- and when he doesn't get the one answer he sought, $$$$$, gets pissy and attempts to attack and argue and denigrate our fine panel of experts. Chalk it up to youth, I say, and grit my teeth. Bottom line is we should all employ all the patience and kindness we can with such a neophyte (we all were once one) until we can't take, or deliver, any more. And then, I say, "gut 'em" and send 'em down the road -- the old brick and mortar routine.

I didn't purchase the cue with the intention of it being a "pot of gold". It was a good cue for the money and since it was marked, I held hope that it may someday be identified. I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

I do have about 15 Meucci's and several Joss and Pechauer cues that I'm going to be selling soon. If this was worth anything, I'd put it up here as well. But didn't want to offer some stupid price if it was a crap cue. And not worth the shipping if it's worthless. Hence, the post asking people smarter than me what their opinion might be.

I think we all have a lot of cues that came bundled with the stick we really intended to purchase that have very low-value cues just laying around that we don't really have any money in. The difference in this one is that I was hoping to identify it first before writing it off. This one was different because I spent $30 as it was a good cue for the money and I wanted to see how it hit. (it hits similar to my old Huebler, it it's obviously not that). It was worth $30 for me just to see how it hit and the mystery of trying to identify it.

Thanks.

Well, how does it hit?

it hits similar to my old Huebler

WTF? Then it's a viable player! Saying a cue hits similar to a Huebler is an attention getter. The conical taper is a negative, but it has a fat shaft that could be turned or a different shaft screwed on because it is a common joint.

Throw it on eBay and see what happens. I think you'll easily get your money back and then some. Make sure it's a good ad, good pictures, and detailed description. Make sure you mention the 14 pin joint, you know "just like most Balabushka, an other greats".

Real points/veneers. Real linen.

And...It hots like an old Huebler (YMMV of course, but I would put that in an eBay ad)

If you have an old spare "good" shaft with a pro taper that isn't particularly valuable but fits, you could package that with it for an Ebay sale. Or maybe a case. Maybe if it goes over X amount you can add such a thing. Lots of ways to entice bidders.

I would be curious to see what you could get with a well presented eBay auction.

I'm not looking to get my money back. Just going to keep it. Was just looking for more information about it if anyone knew.

These thrift/pawn shop miners digging for gold are getting old. How much of this shit do we have to fade? AZ needs a 'Penthouse or Outhouse' sub-forum for this stuff. ;)
Worry about yourself. If you can’t handle these threads then close your eyes and go to your happy place with fire lakes and burning babies.
