A friend of mine is trying to identify this cue. Can anyone help us. It's from the sixties and probably from the east cost. The butt is 29" and the shaft is 27 1/2". There is no writing or labeling in the "window" on the butt. The butt cap looks to be held on with a flathead screw, but we don't know if that is original. Blud???? Anyone?????? Thanks, Curt

From the styling I would guess that it is a Paradise or a Palmer. It looks very similar to the pictures in the Blue Book for both makers, but the joint pin design doesn't seem to match up well to the pictures in the book. And the book says they had their name or the customer's name under the "window" which your cue doesn't.
That is a very period looking cue. I have seen only a few other like it, one was a Frank Paradise and one was a Palmer cue. The short pin looks more like a Paradise but the window is more a Palmer style, though Paradise has done that on his cues also. They both have done the double wrap handle. But then again, the window of the cue has no marking of owner or maker so it could be junk. My first guess would be Paradise, second would be Palmer, third would be junk. But I am no expert, just an educated guess.
Paradise or Rich. Abe Rich is more known for the wide silver rings, I beleive along with Doc Frye
I've only seen 2 Rich cues, one in pictures and one in hand. I'll have to go back and see if I can get a hold of that Rich cue. I know it was in pretty bad shape. hey Mike, you ever refinish a Rich Cue?
I just did a search on Rich Cues on ebay and came up with 2 that look almost identical to the one shown less the wrap configuration.

At first he called his company Florida cues, then Star cues but never to the best of my knowledge used the family name. The original Florida cues had a decal on them with the state of florida about an inch long. Everyone used to scratch it off it looked so bad so it would be very rare to find an original with the logo on it. I have to tell you, ther were good cues for the time. Real solid.
Well I don't have one, but does anyone have a Blue Book to reference it agains?

Really, the Rich cue that I have seen up close is my roomates Dad's cue. He was thinking of buying a new one for him for either Father's Day or Christmas. His dad mentioned getting a pool table and start playing again. I was thinking it would be cool to get it refinished since it wasn't in the best of shapes. I'll keep that in mind Mike. Thanks.

His older cues had a dipped finish, really thick. He would just dip them and hang them up. Where he would hang them there was a huge rock like thing on the floor about a foot tall from all the finish that dripped over the years. He can be a funny guy. I have known him for about 40 years, most of whitch he was not talking to me.

Hmmm, looks like table 2.... Danny really does a nice job restoring cues......
I am looking at a Rich Q that has a window in the butt just above the cap. It has a big "Q" and says Rich inside it. Is this an original Abe Rich cue or one of the later cues made by the Rich Cue Company.
