If I was a Rich Man, I would own Cues from the following Cuemakers

PoolSleuth

Banned
Jerry McWorther because of his unique designs

Ernie at Gina Cue because of his designs, and also he is IMO one of the Living Legends of Cuemaking

Tim Scruggs because of his Classic Designs of Cues

Dave Barenbrugge King of the Butterfly Cue

Mike Lambros because of the Hit of his Cue with it ULTRA JOINT.

Ron Kilby as he is the "BEST" IMO at building a Three Cushion Cue.. A game I still love to Play, (Great Stroke Training) but will never be any good at....

My husband Tim loves his Lambros cue. I have shot with it a couple of times, when he would let me :) and it is a great hit. I also like the schon we have which I'm not sure if it's a custom or not but the hit is sweet. I know the schon is an older cue.... I think. I can't keep up. We have so many cues here that I lost track but the Lambros is great.

Dave Barenbrugge as King of the butterfly?! Are you serious?! While I have to admit that I question some of your other pics (McWorter, Scruggs, Lambros) arguments could be made for each. But how could you possibly call Dave Barenbruge the "King of the Butterfly"?!

His prices have reached the level that they have not because of a loyal fan base that has been buying his cues for years, but because Lucky contracted him several years ago and juiced up his prices. Now, you try selling a Barenbrugge cue for the same price in the US and I could guarantee you'll be sitting on that cue for a long time.

The real "King of the Butterfly" lives here in New Jersey and is a member of this forum. He is a terrific cuemaker who never ceases to amaze with his designs, wood choices, and craftsmanship. His name is Paul Fanelli.

In the meantime, I'll answer your question.

If I were a rich man and had an endless stream of money to spend on cues, my collection would likely consist of cues from these makers:

  • Paul Mottey
  • James White
  • Bill Schick
  • Ernie Gutierrez
  • Joel Herceck
  • David Kersenbrock
  • Bob Manzino
  • Ron Haley
  • Dennis Searing
  • John Showman
  • Gus Szamboti
  • George Balabushka

I do like the threads...:p

If I were a rich man,
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.
I wouldn't have to work hard.
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
If I were a biddy biddy rich,
Yidle-diddle-didle-didle man.

I'd build a big tall house with rooms by the dozen,
Right in the middle of the town.
A fine tin roof with real wooden floors below.
There would be one long staircase just going up,
And one even longer coming down,
And one more leading nowhere, just for show.

I'd fill my yard with chicks and turkeys and geese and ducks
For the town to see and hear.
And each loud "cheep" and "swaqwk" and "honk" and "quack"
Would land like a trumpet on the ear,
As if to say "Here lives a wealthy man."

If I were a rich man,
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.
I wouldn't have to work hard.
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
If I were a biddy biddy rich,
Yidle-diddle-didle-didle man.

:)

I love the cue maker threads. Its always interesting and I find new names and ideas all the time. Keep it up.

I've repeated other's threads before, and try to search them before putting a new one out there. There is almost an identical thread out there right now on who is the best living cuemaker. I'm sure a search would pull up your exact thread probably once every couple of months. Many people (me included) didn't start using the search feature for several months after joining the forum.

I agree Paul Fanelli is the man at the butterfly cues and pat deviney not to bad either.

That list works for me. I don't know anything about Manzino
so I would add Barry Szamboti, Paul Fanelli, & maybe
Pete Tascarella to that list.
