If I x-ray a Balabushka.

I do not, but I don't mind waiting for your photos. I have sold 8 or 9 in the last 12 months and I am confident that I got the maximum out of each, they are very cool cues and the first ever real "players" cue, marrying form and function, using Spain blanks ❤️
It is like the second one from the left above my added text.

Can Joe of Classic Cues chime in on the validity of the top part of this statement.
I am under a little different understanding of the type of screw most often used.
But I have very often been wrong in my opinions. Just ask my wife.
Double thread screw afaik.

If you’re worried about what is inside your cue you might be better off taking up croquet or darts. An X-ray of a cue would add zero value to me. I would just figure the cue was being hyped and offer the owner less as a result!

I could. But as I see in this thread already a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

The only thing I will say... Verl Horn's Horny Bushkas did not fool those that knew. But there were no internet experts to warn the buyers.. LOL.. There is an old saying... "the easiest to fool, are the greediest"...

Agreed, but they were still beautiful cues in many cases

This is what Verl Horn did before he made his Bushka copies. His were almost impossible to tell the difference in the two. This cat brought one to a tournament and all the cue 'experts' there though it was the real deal. Another cue i shoulda bought. ;)
I had a Very Horn that had been sold as a Bushka a couple of times before I got it. Great looking and playing cue. Wish I still had it as well!!
