...which country would you pick to win (and using which two players)?

I think the team of Allison Fisher and Ronnie O'Sullivan (or any other top British player) would be unbeatable if they would represent the UK.

Jasmin and Albin Ouschan for Austria
Jeanette and Shane VB for US
Allison and Daryl Peach for UK

I'm sure Philippines and Taiwan could form strong mixed teams, possibly even better.

- Norway - Line "Rockstar" Kjoersvik & Roy "Da Man" Steffensen

Altho - Kjoersvik will really have to do some shooting ! :D

- Netherlands - Niels Feijen & Kynthia Orfanides

I like that matchup as I saw them on tv - and I I think they play very well as doubles - they are formidable .

How about a mixed doubles league?with 24 teams, 8 teams each on the West Coast, Central, and East coast? Each area of 8 teams plays 12 team round robin tournaments a year...say they play twice a month. At the end of this the top team from each of the 3 leagues play each other to get the champion team for that season.

I figure they could play on a Monday and Tuesday leaving the weekend open for their other tournaments. The idea of the three leagues is to cut down on travel expenses and travel time. Probably 8 teams could all play each other in 1 day?I'm not too sure of that. What do you think of something like that? No I'm not smoking anything either. Johnnyt

Great concept JT. Maybe six RR's per year, and then a "Super Bowl" of Pool in late Dec. to determine the champion for the year. The logistics of a monthly tournament might overload the player's schedule. Sure has merit.

Korea and Japan also has got some good male female pool players.

Its a whole new ball game. I can't really see any country having much advantage.

Would it take 1 or 2 days to get through 8 mixed doublr team in a round robin format? Johnnyt

Think I'd have to go with Bustamante/Ranola as the best possible team in the suggested format.
