If you carry 2 or more shafts

Yes

I carry 2 shafts as I and others I have had have tips pop off, They are pretty much identical.

Two playing cues 1 is 18 oz and the other is 19 oz. I'll play with 1 for about 3-4 months, and switch to the other.

2 shafts, same model, same diameter, same amount of wear (a lot).

Both shafts usually have different tips (one is usually a bit softer than the other).

Atm I'm mainly using a milkdud elkmaster, with a zan medium on the other.

I also have two unused shafts, same make and model that stay at home.

The original idea was to retire the old cue with the old shafts, but since there's nothing wrong with them, I just rotate the butts and keep the same two shafts.

I carry three...my main shooter....one that is three inches longer....and a purpleheart shaft that is same length and diameter as my main shooter. If I am shooting really crappy sometimes the added weight and forward balance of the purpleheart helps me settle down. It's a mental thing. I only use the longer shaft if using a bridge on the shot would be awkward and I need the extra length.. So I don't use it that often, just like having the option. Also the longer one is the same diameter. All three have the same tip.

I carry two cues and two shafts...Its basically for the same reason as if I had two shafts. I ran into the reason I bring them both last night at league.

I started off with a cue that had an LD shaft...was not doing well at all. Went to my cue with the regular maple shaft and couldn't miss.

With me it is a confidence issue, if I am having issues and it isn't vision or stroke I will change what I am using and it gives me just a little more confidence, which helps get me into a rhythm...and it really helps me most times.

2 butts and 3 shafts. My case is a JB rugged 2x3. Sold my JB 2x5/3x4, too much to carry. 2x3 is just right!

This is exactly what I was talking about with my reason that I have the purpleheart shaft. Sometimes it's just a mental thing and really helps the confidence.

I always carry 2 shafts for my player. I also carry a sneaky with me in case I need to change it up a bit. The sneaky had an extra shaft as well. I typically break with my player and can crack them pretty hard. The extra shafts keep my player in the game should s mishap occur. Oddly enough it's only happened once with a tip popping off due to poor adhesion.

That is similar to me👆🏻
I have a maple and a (semi) ld in the bag to fit the same butt.
I feel better w one some nights- others the only one to use is the option.

I use a soft case usually and I can stuff 3 butts/ 4 shafts into it. I like the flexibility of the soft case and it isn't like I am bumping into things.

1 butt, 1 shaft in a 1x1 case. I don't compete and don't gamble. If that ever changes, I will definitely carry an extra shaft.

I have two cues, a playing cue and b/j cue. The playing cue with two identical shafts and the b/j with the original shaft and a break shaft built from a cuemaker. The only reason i have all shafts with me is the protection of the spare shafts, because I only have one 2x4 cue case. It´s a good feeling to have a spare shaft with you, but in 28 years of playing I never needed one.

I keep one extra shaft with me because it fits easily in my case.

Haven't needed it yet.

I have a spare shaft for my cue, and I bring it with me to tournaments. It's exactly the same, apart from having a slightly harder tip. I alternate between the two shafts based on how I feel that day or the conditions. If the conditions are slow, I prefer the harder tip. Obviously it also provides an insurance against tip failure.

If you have a spare shaft it makes sense to take it with you. Tip falls off mid tournament, with a spare shaft you're covered, without you are screwed.

I do not understand that sentence.

Not my best phrased sentence..🙄
What I MEANT was some nights the one shaft feels "right" but other nights(for whatever unknown reason) the other shaft is the better option.
It is quite a mystery to me on what determines how it goes... I suspect it is all in my head.

I had always believed that it was important to carry two different shafts, a standard and
long one. I think I used the 30" one time ever. I wasn't sure why I ever got it in the first place.
After some thought it made much more sense to me that if I was going to have
two shafts they should be the same with the same tip. I have found that I like it that
way. Then I just need to pare back my case.....

For the longest time I carried what seemed like a ton of gear, a player with two same
model same make shafts, a back up cue with two of the same shaft, and a Breaker.

I used, most nights one cue and my team mate's breaker because his was always out.
So I figured, why carry all this stuff I never use? I was a Boy Scout, I like to be prepared
but it seemed to me like overkill and besides the case was kind of a pain to lug around,
and all the little gadgets I had in there and all that chalk, gum, eyewash, tic-tacs, a piece
of leather, shaft cleaner, spare change, a glove, pens and pencils, 8 ball markers, a spare phone battery, etc......

So I got a JB 1 X 2 Rugged, put my player and both shafts in it, 2 pieces of chalk, a Cue Pup
(from the old Cue Shark company), this thing is great, it's a scuffer, a shaper, a burnisher and
20 other things - truly an all purpose tip tool and a pocket marker, a bridge head, and maybe
one or two small misc. things.

This seems to work fine. I have yet to need any of that other stuff I used to carry around.
Much happier and much easier to carry. I can no longer fit a six pack in there, but other than that....
