If you could ask Earl "The Pearl" Strickland any Questions what would they be???

I would ask him what type of tip he was using during the 90's, from 1990-1999, During that time I never seen him miscue, I know he got a good stroke not to miscue, but I'm also curious of the type of tip, and the shape of it too, important to know the shape. Thanks

Someone can jump in and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Earl has been using Elkmaster tips for quite some time. Corey Deuel uses them, too.

When I took the group lesson with him I asked him to tell the story of the million dollar challenge. It was awesome. He relived it and even set up the final million dollar tough nine ball combo.

I've watched many of his matches recently on youtube and I think he is one of the greatest players ever. I'd like to ask him if he thinks he return to his top form?

Great post and thanks to everyone with a serious ? Yeah the azz wieght and bee keeper r funny but Earl is a hell of a player. As far as im concerned he can beat anyone in the world more than 50% of the time. If Earl reads this Earl do you remember Buffalo Bob Harris from NC . Him and I were in ur room with u in WPB Fl when u won the flareup 91 or 92 .You told me you never remembered names but never forgot a face. In about 90 i was with a guy that beat the hell outa tony ellen even the next day u gave him the six and shot his n**s off that was when I realized u were more than just a great player.Good luck in the future I know U still have it and I dont think even efren can fade a together Earl playin 9 ball.

Did Earl ever have any formal coaching lessons or is he completely self taught?
Any mentoring from older players? If so, who were they?
Does he think any pro player could benefit from hiring good coaches who specialize in certain parts of the game (i.e. mental or physical), or is coaching overrated?
Since he plays tennis also...does he use single handed or double handed backhand?

River Sticks

Did he ever play at River Sticks in Chicago off of Grand Ave. in the 80's and who were some of the characters over there?

Ask Earl a question

Earl, with all the fans worldwide, why didn't you get a promoter/investor to get you into a pool room/bar with your name on it? You could be the house pro AND proprietor when you were not away touring with exhibitions and teaching. I'm positive you could get a person with $$$ to invest in you, your name and your skill !

LUCK & Such....

Dear Earl,

First off, you are the greatest 9 baller the world has ever seen. You have FIVE, U.S. Open 9 Ball Championships to prove it and much, much more. No need to answer that question......

If you ever wondered if the fans actually like you, just keep reading this thread and refer to it often. There will always be those who are jealous of your accomplishments and others who take perverted pleasure at jerking your chain when you are competing. DAMN every single one of those people who would shark you or say unsettling things to you while you are competing just to see you go off or to see you get out of stroke. Damn every single one of them.

You often talk about luck, having it or not having it.

I once wrote a note to you in a thread here on AZ Billiards Main Forum discussing how you can make your own luck.

I am a lowly amateur who will never win even one U.S. OPen 9 Ball Championship and am far past my physical prime to even dream about such things, although miraculously, I continue to improve my game, even though it is only in extremely small increments.

You can read about the suggestions ON LUCK that I made back then and I believe they arejust as valid today as they were then by clicking here.

Wishing you all the best and looking forward to your next TITLE!

Oh yeah, one day, I hope you will do me the honor of sitting in the commentary booth with me. I promise you will have a good time.

Semper Fi,
Joey Aguzin

Biography

Earl, do you think you would ever sit down with a professional writer (Dyer, etc.) and assist on the writing of a full biography of your life? It would be a best seller.
